Identify this movie, please

I just had a flashback and remember watching a horrifying movie when I was little. This movie was the reason I was (read, is) afraid of the dark.

I don’t remember a whole lot of it. I remember there being a little skeleton like the kind you find in a African Tribal Store that holds a spear (which to this day I walk by very quickly). This thing came to life and was terrorizing this woman. It slashed her ankles. I remember she tried to put it in the microwave, tried to zip it in a suitcase.

I remember I was so scared I hid behind our big lazyboy chair!

I was under 12, so it would have been before 1984.

Anyone help me?

This is the 3rd part of Trilogy of Terror, starring Karen Black.

I AM afraid of the dark. I not is afraid of the dark. :smack:

Holy crap! That was fast. And, you are right.

Think I should face my fear and see if I can rent it? shudder

And here I was thinking of the Doctor Who episode with the evil Doll that was heat activated…

Yep. If you ask a group of people if a movie ever scared the crap out of them, there will usually be a few who mention the lil witch doctor.

I saw this when I was young also (under 10) and it scared the crap out of me.
I told some friends about it when I was 20 something and convinced them that we should rent it.
Sorry, it just isn’t as scary when your over 10. It looks pretty silly nowdays.

Hampshire:

Good! heheh I don’t wanna be scared by it! I just want to see what I was so scared of.

Ummm, boo.

We’ve had a bit of fun discussing this guy.

Here, for instance.

And here.

Funny, I vividly remember the voodoo witch doctor doll segment, but I can’t for the life of me remember what the first two stories of the “trilogy” were about.

Check the third link in my post above.

Hee hee! My husband and I call that “The Cha-Cha Doll” because of the sound effects every time it appears. Good stuff.

I’ve heard from a lot of people who were emotionally scarred by this Zuni fetish doll. I’ll be fine without ever seeing the movie.

I seriously think I am emotionally scarred by this movie! I’m 32 years old and I have a NIGHT LIGHT in the hall way, and in the bathroom for those middle of the night trips to the potty. If I’m feeling really scared, I’ll bring the dog with me, like she’d save me pfft

I don’t remember being scared of the dark as a child at all. Not until I saw this movie!
