I remember a frightening movie from my childhood. At least, I hope it was a movie, and not from my imagination. If it’s from my imagination then I am an odd fellow. It’s probably from the early 80s and was sort of horror/sci-fi. The only thing that I really remember was that people were dying, and when they died, they shriveled up, and a blue, glowing orb floated away from them. That’s all I have, but it freaked me out as a child, and I’m at a loss for movies that freak me out anymore, and would like to revisit this one. Any help would be great!

A wonderfully bizarre flick. Notice the way the director keeps framing shots so that streetlights, etc. always seem to loom like flying saucers in the background. A friend of mine loves it because of the scenes at the end inside the alien ship, where they adjust the controls, and they’re playing not with electronic switches, but with pipes and valves, as if the Saucer was steam-powered. Worth looking at.
