I used to be neighbors with an old Chinese couple - in an apartment, so we didn’t really have much of a neighborly relationship. We didn’t speak too often. I helped them carry their groceries to their apartment a couple times, but that was really the extent of our relationship.
When I was moving, the husband handed me this trinket before I left, and said: “Mongolia, mongolia.” I wasn’t sure what it was or what he was expecting from me, so I smiled politely and thanked him. That seemed to satisfy him. He didn’t speak much English, and I’m not sure he could have given me a satisfactory explanation even if I had thought to ask him.
So, does anybody know what this is?
