Idiotic IT cuntomer - some people should not be allowed to own any IT equipment

Working in IT can be funny sometimes and most people understand that they have been coned after explaining to them, that:
No, Windows did not call you to tell you that you have a virus on your Laptop/PC. That is some scammer trying to get your money.

No, there is no software that will make your hardware up to 7 times faster, its like racing stripes stickers on your car don’t make it go faster…… or so I thought until today.

Now, today’s idiot really took it to another level.

This idiot cuntomer just told me that I sold him a not working Laptop, and that I have to replace it or give him his money back and reimburse him for the hassle.
After about 10minutes it turns out, that he came across this website and they advised him about a tool that would make his computer up to 7 times faster with their tool for only $ 19.99 (Dollar).

Well, he did just that… Guess what happened after installing that tool, the laptop did not restart.

He then contacted the crowed and they blamed it on the computer retailer and that I sold him a faulty non-functional computer.
Never mind that the laptop worked perfect before he installed that tool, did I mentioned that he bought this laptop 2 years ago… but it only failed after he used that tool?

Up to here I was still trying to explain to him, that I certainly can fix his computer and recover his files etc…. to get the job, never mind him being a complete and utter idiot and then I told him the cost at which point he lost his shit with me.

30min into this … This shithead is telling me that he’ll be going to report me to the Garda (Police) if I don’t reimburse him for the laptop and that he’s also getting a second opinion from a proper professional computer retailer to make his case against me and that he will send me the bill for that. And that I will hear from his solicitor (lawyer).

At this stage, I told him to just go there and kindly leave my shop.

Let’s see what happens……

The cuntomer is always right, yes of cos! :smack:

“The cuntomer is always right”

This is the best typo in the history of typos.

That’s no typo.

I’m sorry you had to deal with this situation.

I’m sure you will come out of it well - and hopefully with an apology from the idiot.

“cuntomer” instead of “customer” is not clever, if you were wondering.

Would a mod please change the headline to Idiotic IT [very bad word]omer?

I agree. If you have to make up stupid words to get your point across you must have a very limited vocabulary.

Tell that to William Shakespeare…or Lewis Carroll, come to think of it.

To the OP: Yikes! Good luck to you. I hope he doesn’t come back to you with a predatory solicitor to try to shake you down for a settlement. (“Now, wouldn’t it be easier all around to pay a couple thousand, rather than tens of thousands in legal costs…”) Bleah.

And…yeah! Computers are quirky. We, as customers, are supposed to do some individualizing and modifying – we install anti-virus apps, etc. Before long, we have big ugly messy installations. Worse, some of us enjoy programming, and write our own apps, and so we don’t even have proper quality control over some of what’s running!

I want to say THANK YOU to all the good vendors out there, the ones who’ve always taken good care of me as a customer. I deal with them politely and respectfully, I follow their advice, I trust them to do my repairs and upgrades – and, so far, they’ve always stood behind their products and services.

There are more good guys in the world than bad guys – or civilization wouldn’t be possible.

Unreasonable customers exist in all retail industries.

You could have saved yourself the word “retail” - unreasonable customers exist in all industries.

However, some industries are more prone to it than others.
Roddy

I don’t think you’d need much in the way of legal fees. If his attorney has half a brain all you’d need to do is point out that it worked for two years and ceased to work after idiot installed this particular malware, and that his claims amount to defamation of character and extortion.

I’d probably add “And both he and you can go fuck yourselves if you think I’m giving this clown a dime.”

Try submitting this to Not Always Right. Seems adequately horrible.

Oh, I’m not really worried about any legal ramifications as such. Warranty is 12 months and we’re past that a long time ago. Stuff like virus, malware etc is not covered under warranty anyhow.

However, I’m not expecting (or waiting for) an apology – he’s a self entitled shitbrain, he will just not come to my shop anymore and bad mouth me in town a bit.

Thank you, I always try to give my best!

Yup

Ah, well… I wasn’t wondering

My stupid English is better than your best German, so go and be creative with that.

Yep, sounds like you’re dealing with a real genius here. Unless you sold him an actually defective (i.e. containing a defect of manufature) laptop, which is all that is covered by your bog standard 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee, then he hasn’t a leg to stand on. Technically, he has up to six years to legally object, but to do so now, he would have to take you to small claims court. IANAL, but this seems to be the relevant statute. If it ever did go to court, the facts of the case (e.g. idiot goes to dodgy website and fucks up his laptop) are wholly on your side. (Of course, there’s a 99% likelihood that there’s nothing wrong with the equipment itself; it simply needs a simple backup/reinstall, which usually goes for about €60-€90 in these parts.)

:dubious:

Right, the OP should’ve known that made-up words, like, oh - I don’t know - “cromulent”, have no place in these hallowed halls.

You’ve GOT to be fucking kidding me. How’s about you stay out of the pit, then, Princess? And don’t give me that shit about, “B-b-b-but I’m at work and I’ll be fired and wind up homeless if my [del]owner[/del] boss sees the bad, bad word!” You still have the non-imbecilic option of passing it off as a typo (and the 2nd post in this thread seems to indicate you might just pull that off!)

Oh, and mods? If you do follow up on this pantywaisted request, might I also suggest censoring other filthy thread titles such as the following? Thanks in advance!

“Suggest a fanny pack/man purse/pack of some kind”

“Guitar playing wanker”

Of cause , he’s the smartest guy around.
There are many funny things happening with confused customers; like a smashed screen on a laptop by sitting on it and then asking to get that repaired under warranty, but usually people understand after explaining it to them than this not covered by warranty.
However, this is an extremely ignorant individual.

If we reach the point where idiots are not allowed to own and operate computers, the world economy will crash and sales/service personnel will go out of business.

Be careful what you wish for.

Kudos on being smart enough to recognize when someone’s kidding. Some people didn’t think you could do it.

Here’s some context.

**Fuji **- Nah, I wouldn’t have it changed. But I do think the expletives you choose to use reflect something of your beliefs. Would you be defending the use of the n-word as a replacement for “cuntomer”? Just curious. For me, I find both similarly ugly, and telling. Would you agree, or not so much?
