If a post-plastic surgery attractive woman makes an ugly baby, was the spouse conned?

Babies don’t come with guarantees.

If they did, we ALL would have been returned for something.

My oldest brother, who turned out to be a very good looking boy then man, if I may say so, was, according to mum, horribly ugly as a fresh grub! She likes to tell about how when she was on the ward, and they were bringing in all the newborns for that day, it was one pretty baby after another, and the sister would stand there and say the name, and the new mum would beam, and all the other mums awww’d.

Then they brought in this kid who was 9 pounds, 21 inches long, with two black eyes (they couldn’t get his eyes open for the silver nitrate), just this long, skinny, bald wriggly newt- like object, and my mum started to laugh, and said, ‘Oh my God, no, please tell me that one isn’t mine!’

He turned out ok, no worries!

The union never had a chance anyway because the father is morbidly ugly, and I’m not talking about his face.

You remind me mother’s friend Attila. Who was adamently (and vocally) opposed to my dying my hair on the grounds that I was “misrepresenting my genotype” to potential suitors. (Never mind that half the time my hair was a color not found it nature so it wasn’t like I was trying t fool anyone.)

He was adamently opposed to hair dye…right up till he started to go grey  .
(er…not that I’m saying you’d do that astro  )

The OP is really more of an arms length opinion question based on the news item . Personally, I’ve have several conversations with my 17 year old daughter telling her I really don’t care what she does with her hair color or style wise, as I think it’s healthy for kids to play around with their body image within limits, although I’m not really onboard (personal preference wise) with big, wraparound, cinemascope body tats on people.

It’s her mother (my ex) who is adamantly opposed to her substantially cutting or coloring her hair, although she colors her own. In terms of a daughters hair color and styles I’ve found it’s generally the moms who are a lot more invested in the issue than dads are. IMO it’ll grow back, why get wound up about it? Have fun while you can.
