Get her! Not even here a year and already using words like “our” and “we”!
You rock, Ginger. “When doesn’t a visiting Frenchman deserve to be pantsed?” indeed. You’re a treasure. Seriously. (You can tell I’m serious because I’m not using any smilies.)
Wait—so when Maurice Chevalier sang “Fifty Million Frenchmen Can’t be Wrong” in the early '30s, he was projecting? I always did think that was an excessive amount of Frenchmen . . .
I simply don’t understand why some wack, yes, wack conspiracy theory book inspires such vitriol. I don’t live under a rock, and I fully realize that the events of 9/11 were deadly and tragic. However, many, many books about many, many deadly events with dubious facts and conspiracy theories. So what? You want to get all violent with someone for that?
And if violence is the sentence for falsifying facts, then there’s a whole bunch of people who deserve an ass whoopin’, many members of our current government included. Where ya going with that?
Hey, I’m not at all disputing that the guy is a wacko, fabricating french fuckwad, but this whole thread smacks of the [mob soccer chant] USA! USA! USA! foaming-at-the-mouth-for-a-pogrom mentality that I think is certainly below the intellectual level of the vast majority of the posters on this board, not to mention why the rest of the world thinks we’re dangerously violent idiots.
Arky me boy: I don’t see anyone seriously proposing violence in response to the French dimwit here. In fact, the preponderance of the reaction is head-shaking or amused disgust.
For some reason you are dragging your warty little predjudices into the discussion, apparently for the purpose of eliciting a heated reaction.
He had to be – back in the 30s, two Frenchmen wouldn’t agree on anything, much less 50 million.
An Arky, my “vitriol” was aimed at you, not Meyssan. Your supposition that there can be “points of view” about facts is one of the most invidious and dangerous ideas that currently flutters around. Facts are facts; “points of view” are valid only when they relate to interpretation of what facts mean.
Lessee, I called the guy a fabricating french fuckwad, I guess that’s not nice, but I only did it for the ailiteration. Besides, I’m of French ancestry and proud of it, so that’s not the case.
The USA thing? I’m an American, and proud of that, too, though not of the behavior of some of my fellow citizens. No predjudice there, either.
However, the point of me kind of missing the point of the tone of the majority of the posts in this thread, well, that’s a point well taken. The more I think about it, I believe I’d have a hearty laugh if someone indeed gave him a wedgie. But he probably wears those disgusting speedo-looking briefs popular in European countries, so it might be hard to get a good grip on them.
And of course, I’m not worth “it”. I wouldn’t want to be.
