U-turn. Heard and used it in the mid-90s growing up in Santa Rosa, California. Haven’t heard it actually used for years.

This is what I guessed it to mean. I’d just assume the word “off” had been dropped off.

I’ve heard the phrase but never used it myself.

Here in NE Wisconsin it’s either “pull a u-ey” or “whip a shitty”. I think someone else mentioned previously that “whip a shitty” also describes the act of doing donuts in the wintertime.
