I thought the OP’s linked allegation was that Obama was frequenting a gay bathhouse. But maybe he was only visiting for the articles.

From the article, it’s actually a “grand old bathhouse”. From this we can conclude that Obama is not only secretly gay, but secretly Republican as well. Perhaps a secret Log Cabin Republican. Hey, those 40M Google hits (see Foggy) can’t all be lying!

Four years ago I would’ve said this is correct, but now I’m not so sure. People really don’t care a lot anymore, especially with the economy the way it was. They are interested in their pocketbooks.

I worded my question incorrectly. I didn’t mean to imply he HAD to justify his middle name. I was really asking about the origin of the name and who named him that? I’m sure political opponents had a variety of theories, none of them accurate.

Someone who asks why Obama’s middle name is Hussein is legitimately trying to learn about him, so nothing you’ve said in this thread is bothersome to me. On the other hand, someone who comes up with some ridiculous, false, and malicious theory about where the name comes from and then publicizes that theory by giving a speech about it, printing it in an article in a newspaper or magazine or in a book, or who posts it on a website is evil and/or stupid. It’s easy to do the research to find out that Obama was named after his father and that his middle name came from his grandfather. Anyone who can’t be bothered to do that research and who thinks that he has a right to spread his theory to other people is simply increasing the amount of ignorance in the world.
