If there is something with ____ on the menu, I won't order it!

Broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, spinach, pretty much any green vegetable.

I’ll eat everybody’s foie gras who doesn’t want it.

Sustainability problems. The Patagonia Toothfish is getting very over-fished.

Yogurt. Not on, in, under or over on the side. Not wrapped around raisins, frapped with fruit, frozen, fried, or disguised as ice cream.

No. Yogurt.

(or lamb)

Beef - any form, except maybe steak. with Potatoes. Carrots. Gravy. I get SO SICK of it, it seems to be all I cook for The Man. Except steak. I’ll not turn down a nice steak.

Mayonnaise.

There are other things I avoid, including melted cheese and brussels sprouts, but mayonnaise is at the top of the list.

Cilantro/coriander
fennel
asparagus
avocado
mushrooms

It’s not that I won’t eat this stuff if it’s put in front of me, but goddamn if I’m going to pay for the privilege of eating that nasty shit.

Peppers
Any animal from the water.

Add one more mushroom hater to the list

Beets. I’d rather not even be in the same building. It doesn’t matter how you cook them.*

*With one little exception: I will happily eat them in borscht. Yummy!

They make the whole room stink nasty.

Basil. No one wants to hang out with the girl with hives.

Another vote for mushrooms. They are an automatic, unequivocal deal breaker.

I once was taken to a vegan restaurant, and while I don’t really go for that ordinarily, I was impressed by how good most of the dishes sounded–except that 2/3 of them had mushrooms! Blech!!! It’s the texture and consistency that I hate the most, but everything about them turns me off in the worst way.

Meat. blargh.

Other than that I’m pretty easy to please.

Save some for me! Tasty, tasty cruelty.

As for mine: bell peppers (actually, lots of green veggies aside from broccoli), sauerkraut, Italian sausage, beets, and raisins.

Then there are the things that may have an ingredient I don’t like, but I might try it if everything else sounds tasty. Mayo is one such ingredient. I’m also not a huge fan of “curry” (as in, the powder that you’d buy at most American grocery stores) but I am aware that there are different kinds of curry, and I have found curry dishes that I liked.

Fried or boiled eggs. Houston’s has an awesome spinach salad with warm bacon dressing… and I always forget to tell them to hold the diced boiled egg. Ick… and it isn’t even like I can just toss the halved or sliced egg away (or give it to an egg eater). It’s everywhere!

Boiled eggs reek to me. I don’t know how the rest of civilization tolerates 'em.

When people talk about putting a fried egg on a hamburger, I puke in my mouth a little.

I do like fried egg in pad thai or fried rice, but it better be mixed in and without big honkin’ chunks.

Peppers. I hate the way they taste and I loathe the way they continue to taste for the next several hours. Even a small minced up amount triggers massive repeats and heartburn.

And, of course, liver.

Same here.

I do recall being around 10, and hating just about all food, though. Just didn’t like much of anything; don’t know if that was mom’s cooking or what, but really…I didn’t care for food.

This didn’t go over well, especially when I had breakfast waiting for me at lunch cause I didn’t finish it in the morning, and of course all the starving people in Africa wanted my peas at dinner…

I remember wishing VERY hard, I think it was my 12th birthday wish, something close to that…I wished that I would just like all the food in the world, that I would enjoy food.

Not sure when it happened <doubt it was the next morning or anything drastic> but I got my wish! :stuck_out_tongue:

Bell peppers give me hives. Interestingly, it’s only bell peppers. Jalapeno, poblano, anaheim, serrano, thai, you name it - I’m fine with those.

Meat.

Also, cauliflower and cabbage.

Red and yellow peppers. Also, for some reason, jalepeños. In fact, anything with large chunks of pepper. I don’t like the taste. Of course, for the past, like, 10 years, everything’s had chunks of bell pepper in it…

That being said, I like spicy. I really like spicy. When I found out about sriracha–the rooster kind–that was like heaven. All of the kick, none of the icky chunks.

Also, honestly, anything with gravy that isn’t from Bob Evans or Boston Market. I’ll have gravy at home, or at a relative’s, but gravy at your general greasy spoon seems to be crap. The exceptions are loaded with enough salt and fat that I don’t care.

Also, pork. Not ham or bacon, but pork. I don’t like pork.

I don’t really like beef except for steak, either.
