Or keep the guards armed with automatic weapons. We should invite such attempts because they are cowards and they have already become less likely to reveal themselves. Our best hope at flushing out the traitors is with orders from the Disgraced Former President.

I’ll take that, but another important consequence should be prohibition from holding any federal office in the future. Whatever happens, and as much as I’d love to see the Orange Peril in an orange jumpsuit and behind bars, I hope AT LEAST that much occurs.

I don’t know why he would call for insurrection when arrested, since he:
a. Wouldn’t be jailed awaiting trial
b. Would be expecting a hung jury while planning to treat that as an acquittal
If he was convicted, and then called for insurrection, nothing would happen, since the fact that a jury of 12 didn’t include a single strong Trumper would be an indication that he had finally reached his political sell-by date.
While insurrection seems unlikely to me, I can see a chance of a dustup in the jury room.
He’d have no qualms whatsoever calling for insurrection the instant he is indicted. He wants potential jurors to be in fear of their lives if they vote to convict. He wants his warriors outraged and incensed, ready to burn the nation down in his name.

Two (charges, a call to riot) of the three things have happened. The ‘arrest’ happens Tuesday. And I stand by my post (#2) in this thread. Hell, have there been any protests since Thursday?
As I noted in the thread about the actual indictment, there was a very small protest (like, a dozen people or less) on the causeway leading to Mar-a-Lago Thursday night.
