There is exactly zero evidence that Elon Musk has Asperger’s Syndrome (a now-deprecated diagnostic category associated with a Nazi follaborator) or is on the autistic spectrum except his own say-so which, given the astounding amount of revisionism about his personal and professional history, his desperate attention-seeking behavior, his willingness to misrepresent and flatly lie about the status of his companies’ projects, and his campaigns of petty harassment toward or capricious firing of anyone in his employ who questions him in any way, I don’t think should be taken as evidence. The actual diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorders requires evaluation and testing by a trained diagnostician (typically a child psychiatrist) who performs a series of cognitive and affective tests as well as evaluating the patient’s history by interviews with family members or other close associates.
From my non-professional but educated eye, Musk does not show the characteristics of neurodivergence typical of high functioning autism aside from a slightly abrupt manner of speaking, and he certainly doesn’t seem to have problems in developing relationships and interacting with people in interpersonal contexts when he desires to do so. Frankly, in my (again, non-professional) judgement he appears to be using this label to deflect criticisms that he is a manipulative, bombastic, mercurial, sociopathic, mendacious, raging asshole, and in doing so besmirches people who actually fall on the autistic spectrum. So, please, let’s not perpetuate this disingenuous claim (along with the many other bullshit excuses and misrepresentations his apologists advance in servitude to him) until he presents actual evidence of a diagnosis.
