If/when Trump and Musk fall out, what will it be over? The results?

As Pangloss said, we live in the best of all possible worlds. And everything ended well for Brandenberg industrialists four score years ago.

I’ve seen several stories today stating that Trump is “buying” a Tesla.

As if he’s going to pay a cent.

Knowing Trump, he’ll agree to purchase one, but then, even after he receives it, he’ll refuse to pony up the money for it. When Elon comes asking for the dough, Trump will simply tell him to expect a check in two weeks. Maybe that’ll be what finally causes a rift between them.

I doubt that Musk expects Trump to pay for the car.

It’s too bad Trump isn’t allowed to drive. I’m sure he’d like to try out the self-driving mode.

Especially near the riverfront.

Does the White House or any of Trump’s properties have charging stations?

LMFAO.

That was, as Trump likes to say, “Sad!”

Trump knows full well that an important part of being a bully is never looking that pathetic. He’s lost his touch.

Musk is so fucking clueless that he actually thinks he’s still still a sympathetic figure.

Two nazi fucking jokers that deserve each other.

Thus far, despite Leon Nazi Musk being extremely bad for Trump and his regime in terms of PR and harmony within the inner circle, Trump does not seem to have soured on him at all. So I think the opinion of myself and others here that Trump will not ditch Musk based on a little squabble between them, etc., will continue to be borne out.

Minor disagree. Trump’s ego is involved, so what you, or I, or the other posters might consider a “little squabble” could be the cause of a flameout, because it offends him in a disproportionate way. In fact, I consider this the much more likely scenario, rather than a more rational fall out over public perception, damage to the economy, etc. Trump is, IMHO, much more driven by emotion (especially rage, envy, and greed, though he’s full of all the classical sins) and it’s going to be an emotionally driven falling out rather than a calculated one. Or, at least, more likely to be an emotional falling out that is then milked for all the practical considerations he can manage after it’s been decided.

Agree. Trump is trying to destroy Canada utterly almost entirely because Trudeau annoyed him by being insufficiently deferential one time. It is a wildly disproportionate overreaction, but that’s Trump.

I thought Trump would freak out over the Musk Time magazine cover photo showing him behind the White House desk. But I saw him calmly addressing a question about it.

No disagreement with what you wrote, but I will note that Trump seems more patient with some people than others, and is even willing to take back people who have dissed him in the past (e.g., Vance), so he is quite unpredictable in this regard.

My guess is that he loses patience with those who persist in their lack of agreement or deference. So it’s a matter of sensing when Trump is pissed–not hard, I imagine, but Musk is said to be “on the spectrum”–and immediately proceeding to bow and scrape.

Musk appears to be showing the white belly constantly to his master, so my gut is that he will last. However, as I said above, if Trump perceives Musk as being truly incompetent according to his own twisted standards, he will ditch him.

I’d probably just amend the last to “Trump…is quite unpredictable…” (except in his veniality), but yes. As for why Musk gets more rope than most, I suspect it’s money, it may be private sucking up of course, but I won’t predict the whys or for how longs. Again, unpredictable.

A certain dark portion of me however hopes and prays that it’s happens as soon as possible, to the great consternation and confusion among both and their allies.

That, or Melania, as I guessed in post #15. Or both of them in a threesome. Yes, a man can dream. Picturing that is a nightmare, but in this case the end justifies the means.

No, Trump will need Musk when it all falls apart. After all, Trump can’t admit he was wrong. So he’ll say he had brilliant ideas but Musk sabotaged them and caused all the problems. Just another example of an immigrant ruining America.

My gut says that Trump will be done before any falling out with Musk; i.e., they won’t even have time to break up. Strong wheels exiting bus vibe… and Musk has forgotten the ol’ righty-tighty, lefty-loosey with the lug wrench. Thanks, Nazi Punk!

Nazi Punk Musk just won’t fuck off:

While Leon is a genuine troll, I think his nonstandard cognition doesn’t allow him to see just how big are the bombs he throws, how loose his cannon is, etc.

Trump may be forced to broom such cluelessness sooner rather than later.

There is exactly zero evidence that Elon Musk has Asperger’s Syndrome (a now-deprecated diagnostic category associated with a Nazi follaborator) or is on the autistic spectrum except his own say-so which, given the astounding amount of revisionism about his personal and professional history, his desperate attention-seeking behavior, his willingness to misrepresent and flatly lie about the status of his companies’ projects, and his campaigns of petty harassment toward or capricious firing of anyone in his employ who questions him in any way, I don’t think should be taken as evidence. The actual diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorders requires evaluation and testing by a trained diagnostician (typically a child psychiatrist) who performs a series of cognitive and affective tests as well as evaluating the patient’s history by interviews with family members or other close associates.

From my non-professional but educated eye, Musk does not show the characteristics of neurodivergence typical of high functioning autism aside from a slightly abrupt manner of speaking, and he certainly doesn’t seem to have problems in developing relationships and interacting with people in interpersonal contexts when he desires to do so. Frankly, in my (again, non-professional) judgement he appears to be using this label to deflect criticisms that he is a manipulative, bombastic, mercurial, sociopathic, mendacious, raging asshole, and in doing so besmirches people who actually fall on the autistic spectrum. So, please, let’s not perpetuate this disingenuous claim (along with the many other bullshit excuses and misrepresentations his apologists advance in servitude to him) until he presents actual evidence of a diagnosis.
