There’s being friendly, and then there’s being intrusive. Being friendly and using the occasional term of endearment(as long as it is not pointedly directed at only one member of the party) is fine. (YMMV)
However, stopping by the table so much that a conversation can’t be held, pushing dessert when told umpteen times that they don’t care for any, and essentially ignoring ** Aries28 ** is just rude.
They had every reason to see the manager. It’s not about trying to get someone in trouble. Not every issue addressed to management has to be a screaming “I demand this person is fired” fit. It made their dinner together less pleasant than it should have been, and could probably be solved by the manager simply asking the waitress to tone it down a bit.
And, just my humble opinion, but waitstaff flirting with one’s husband/SO seems like a valid complaint to me.
