If You Could Invite 5 Actors To Your Party, Who Would They Be?

Bill Hader
Mark Hamill
Chris Pratt
Emilia Clarke
Keanu Reeves
Seem like fun, down to earth people that have done projects I’m interested in.

I’ll settle for three:

Jeff Bridges
Michael Palin
Jodie Foster

Whom I would choose and the film I especially liked:
Robin Williams-“What Dreams May Come”
Meryl Streep-“Sophie’s Choice”
Jim Carrey-“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
Marisa Tomei-“My Cousin Vinnie”
Penelope Cruz-“Vanilla Sky”

Just out of curiosity, are you guys considering how good of a match all will be together? Or are you just picking individuals you would like over?

Mel Brookes
Audrey Hepburn
Christopher Lee
Tom Hanks
Gene Wilder

Harold Lloyd
Katherine Hepburn
Myrna Loy
Audrey Hepburn
Rowan Atkinson

Okay, they really don’t fit together.

Well, Phyllis Frelich will need an interpreter, but I assumed that this isn’t some kind of locked room deal where we
couldn’t have one, but she and Helen Mirren are going to have a good time going at Stanislavski. And I can see Penn & Dunne trading barbs.

This is for my entertainment, right?

I changed my mind.
Bette Davis
Joan Crawford
Olivia de Havilland
Joan Fontaine
Asta

I would hang out with Asta and watch the fireworks.

How many of us are old enough to know who played Asta in the TV series?

Strictly for your entertainment and imagination.

I’ve been in situations concerning language, and I don’t think it would be as easy as it seems. The conversation seems to be very jerky, with so much emphasis on translation, and the look made when there is an understanding (or confusion).

Octavia Spencer
Divine
Tom Hanks
Meryl Streep
Peter Dinklage
ETA: On reflection, I worry that they might all feel like tokens of some sort - chosen for their gender/ethnicity/ableness rather than their acting chops. That’s not the case at all, though I did want a group that was intelligent, diverse, and had most likely faced different types of challenges in their careers, because I think hearing them compare notes would be fascinating.

Tom Hanks
George Clooney
Jodie Foster
Brit Marling
Hedy Lamarr

Intelligent, congenial, but not competitive, conversation on a broad set of topics. That’s a good dinner party.

My five are no matches whatsoever. Lillian Gish would probably be horrified by Barbara Steele, but Boris and Buster would be totally into her. Laughton might just hover around the hors d’oeuvres, muttering to himself.

LOL

John Malkovich
Jeff Bridges
Sam Elliott
Sigourney Weaver
Frances McDormand

I think I might just choose Michael Sheen and then I’d have a ready-made dinner party consisting of
Kenneth Williams
Tony Blair
David Frost
Brian Clough
And I bet he could do a cracking Richard Burton.
All the fun, but I only need to cook for two.

Ryan Reynolds
Arnold Schwartzenegger
Jennifer Lawrence
Elvira
Werner Herzog

Should be a fun night.

Julia Roberts
Alcia Silverstone
Michael Bublé
Freddie Prinze, Jr.
Wally Cox

I understand that the first four are accomplished gourmet cooks. And Wally Cox gave off a vibe that makes me think he could be persuaded to do the dishes.

She’s my favorite actress but didn’t make my dinner list because she’s a smoker. I’m allergic to tobacco smoke.
