I believe it’s two of the Mississippi Freedom Riders in jail. I can’t remember their names, but I recognize their faces.
I believe it’s James Chaney and Andrew Goodman.
John Lewis and another Freedom Rider (James Zwerg, I think) after getting the shit beaten out of them by a mob in Montgomery. The local police allowed the assault to proceed without intervening. Zwerg is checking to see how many teeth were knocked out by the mob.
You’re right, that isn’t Chaney and Goodman. My bad for thinking there were only 3 Freedom Riders.
