I’ve read several posts these last few days from people complaining about threads - “I’m sick of hearing about Melin!”, “This thread is stupid!”, etc.
OK, so a thread title interests you, you click on it. You read the OP and the first couple of replies, and realize it’s either not what you thought it was, or it’s not a topic that interests you. What compels you to post as much in that thread?

I fully admit I’ve got a lot of time on my hands, but I won’t read a thread just to complain about its contents. Many a time, particularly in MPSIMS, I open a topic, and find it doesn’t interest me, so I stop reading, hit my back button, and read another. Why is this so hard for some people?
I dunno Esprix, lame threads are kinda like bad comercials. You get use to reading the OP’s to see what it’s about. Once you have and you don’t think it’s worth your while you’ve already wasted the time to read it.
Of course, saying the topic is stupid is a bigger waste of time, and well…why do people really come here if not to waste time.

OK, well, I’ll agree with that “wasting time” part…
It just seems idiotic to me. The one instance I can think of is techchick68 posting in one of the MPSIMS threads, “This is so stupid - can’t you guys talk about more important stuff?!?!” I made the mistake of pointing out to her it made her look like a spoiled brat, and we flamed each other a couple of times - no big deal (and I actually think she’s an ok gal). But there have been others, and it just galls me.
