I don’t know about that, Guin.
Is it really that black and white? Pit or… Flip out.
Give me a break. If those are truly the only two options, there are some pretty serious issues that need to be dealt with.
That’s the one big problem I have with the Pit… people get attention over their rants and then the next thing you know, all they ever do (it seems) is post every single one of their daily rants.
I HATE cheese on my burger, DAMMIT!
To The Jerk who mispelled my name!
HANGNAILS SUCK ASS!
To The goat sucking asswipe that took the last sugar packet.
While, yes, I agree that sometimes it does help to vent and get other’s perspectives, it is not necessary to post rants ad naseum. It’s really not.
I worked in retail. This was prior to the net. Believe it or not, no one at my work ‘flipped’ out. Somehow, we managed to just deal with it. I think that is what Taxman is getting at. I may be wrong, but I take his posts as: THIS is retail. You will always have asshole customers. ALWAYS. If their actions bother you so intensenly that a biweekly rant is needed, maybe a fast food job is not an option. Because, you see, the general customer is NOT going to change. It hasn’t since I lasted worked fast food and that was 15 years ago.
While posting in the pit helps get others to commiserate with you (That Jerk mispelled my name, too!) there gets to be a point where people on the whole get fed up (If you don’t like cheese on your burger, quit going to that damn place already).
If so much venting is truly needed, as has been suggested many times, a live journal is nifty. The problem is, a live journal doesn’t get the traffic the dope gets. It all boils down to, in some cases, to LOOK AT ME! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!
The fact is, IDBB has posted many times about her horrible job. At this point, what else is one expected to say to her? “Sorry your job sucks ass” tends to wear thin after a while.
