I didn’t notice that.
I always immediately shuffle so I missed that.
Heh. I was wondering if everyone gets the same initial layout. I saw “smash that like button” immediately.
I opened this thread hoping I’d find an explanation for that clue! They did a really good job of misdirection with this whole puzzle.
Except I think that category should have been designated the hardest one (purple) instead of the easiest (yellow).
Same.
I assume it was deliberate given that each word was a separate category.
I usually shuffle immediately because they do like to put red herrings together in the initial configuration. I just happened to notice today’s before shuffling.
A couple months ago the top row was SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS.
I’ll have to pay closer attention to the top row before getting started.
Agreed!
If you read them in reverse order, you’ll get a satanic message.
Quick question for those who’ve been playing every day: Is the puzzle typically harder or easier on certain days of the week, like the NYT crossword? Today’s Connections took me about 30 seconds, if that. Probably the easiest one I’ve seen so far.
I haven’t really noticed a difficulty scale in Connections. Monday puzzles can be just as hard (or easy) as a Friday puzzle.
As for today’s puzzle, any chance Wyna Liu is a Wilco fan? Yankee Hotel Foxtrot jumped right out at me.
Agreed.
Same here, but only because I quickly got the blue, yellow, and green categories. I would have had to think awhile to find the connection between the purple clues.
Had the exact same thought.
Today, the second row read THREE BODY PROBLEM POSTER.
Gah, not only did my Connections streak end today, but my crossword puzzle streak died at 66 yesterday. Once more unto the breach!
Anybody else learn a new word today?
No, but I think I know which one you mean.
Yep.
