If you met God what questions would you ask him?

A Christian does not “get to heaven” by worship, or good deeds. or living an honorable life. If you believe that God came to Earth in the person of Jesus, and believe He gave his life to save us from our sins, that’s the key.

Oh. and as a completely irrelevant aside, one does not become an angel, and “get your wings” when you die. Angels are a seperate order of creation. in service to God, and, unlike us humans, do not have free will.

Except the ones who rebelled against God and were cast out of Heaven.

2 Peter 2:4

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains to be held for judgment;

So, I guess the question I would ask god would be, “Did Hitler believe in Jesus, and if so, is he hanging out in Heaven? While Ghandi didn’t believe in Jesus, so is currently in Hell?”

I know which company I would prefer to keep.

So do I, for that matter. About folks like Ghandi, the rules/practices I follow are for Christians, and were made by people. If God wants to follow things differently and accept the Mahatma, that’s God’s business, not mine.

Is there a way to prove to someone who hasn’t met you that you exist?

Or, if we’re being silly, I’d go with this line of inquiry.

Why do you park in a driveway, and drive in a parkway?

Him? Seriously, dude, I’d ask him why he has pronouns.

Because many human languages do no have pronouns for a being that does not have human gender.

How do you know this? Is there some way to verify? Throughout the world, there are several billion Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, who have never even heard of Jesus. They can’t believe in Jesus because they don’t know about him. Are you saying that these people are going to Hell just because they are ignorant? What about the poor infant who dies before baptism?

What’s the deal with those duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed platypuses?

Not all Christians believe this, especially the Catholic Church teaches that faith AND good deeds get you into heaven. I also remember (but correct me if I’m wrong) that Catholics think that even people from different faiths and atheists who lived a righteous life can get there.

English, however, makes freighted choices for them.

That would be my question - which religion was the closest to getting it right?

This was already covered by South Park. They would know, because Jesus Christ Himself is a cast member. Anyway, the correct answer is…the Mormons.

Apostolic or Fundamentalist?

“What’s the deal with the whole tree-of-knowledge in the Garden of Eden? And telling Adam and Eve not to eat from it? My sister told her kids to lay off the junk food, but did they? No! And she didn’t toss 'em butt-nekkid out of the house for it, either.”

Reformed.

Every time I open this thread, I think about that pronoun thing. And imagine God saying “Whatchoo talkin’ 'bout, Phyllis? I ain’t no dude.”

And I’m reminded of a comment from C. S. Lewis, from A Grief Observed (his journal from after his wife died) …

“Ok, who or what are you… really?”
