If you're not watching "Human Target" then you hate America

Battlestar Galactica.

The tattoo disturbs me. He didn’t have that tattoo when he was Keen Eddie, did he? I guess I’ll have to go back and watch the entire series on DVD again, dammit!

Somehow, I can’t quite bring myself to feel sorry for you.

Damn, I think I’m going to have to go back and rewatch it, as well. Such a shame it was Foxed (like Firefly, it was shown out of order, bounced from timeslot to timeslot, poorly advertised, and they didn’t even show the entire season).

Yes, they messed it up. Bravo picked up the remaining episodes. I still have my Keen Eddie promotional dartboard.

I remember seeing the first ep of Keen Eddie and thinking it was pretty good, then never seeing it again.

I like Mark Valley, but I haven’t had the opportunity to watch Human Target. I’ve really got to get my head back in the TV watching game. Stupid graduate school.

Yet another Dangerfield moment for ol’ D_Odds.

Sorry, dude.

She’s a main character on Battlestar Galactica, specifically. In fact, she’s more than one main character.

Worth checking out, by the way.

I like it and my teenage son loves it. Good action, cheesy fun and Haley is awesome.

Count me in on the love for Human Target. I only know Mark Valley from the first season of Fringe, and he was kind of creepy in that, but I like him a lot in this.

It was nice seeing Grace Park in this episode. Tricia Helfer was in the first episode. Now they just need to get Lucy Lawless on the show for the BSG cylon-babe trifecta! And then throw Katee Sackhoff in for good measure.

It was also great to see Methos!

I hope Amanda Reese gets a regular role and Emmanuelle Vaugier gets a semi-regular role. They were both great, and hot. Heck, all the women in it so far have been.

I like the film noir-iness of it.
“How about the satisfaction of knowing you helped a really good person… Dude I’m messing with you, I know where you live”

I’m liking the show a lot so far.

Can anybody knowledgeable about this stuff tell me what’s the prognosis for the programme based on these ratings?

I guess I should subscribe to this thread so that I can know if this show is worth putting into my Blockbuster queueue a year from now.

I really want to like this show, because I like snarky action shows as much as anyone, but after the first two episodes I was so mad at the writers for such stupid plots that I’m having a hard time bringing myself to watch the third one.

The notion of rolling a plane upside down to put the fire into the ‘higher speed air above’ was so stupid on so many levels that I couldn’t believe that was the actual solution the writers came up with. I don’t mind a little exaggeration, but that was just jaw-droppingly dumb. In fact, everything technical involving the airplane was done so badly that it wouldn’t have made it into a comic book. And the first episode where somehow Chance knew the exact angle that the airflow would be going off the back of the train and could rig a dual parachute harness in about 5 seconds… Well, the best I can say for that is that it wasn’t quite as stupid as the airplane stuff in the next episode.

Tell me the writing gets better as the season goes along, and I’ll give it another shot. I like the actors involved and the tone of the show, and the fight scenes are pretty good, so I’m willing to forgive the small/trivial stuff. But if there are glaring stupidities in each episode, I’ll give it a pass.

Would I be out of line in requesting a degree of spoiler-awareness in this thread? This series doesn’t start in the UK until later this month (I think).

I’m looking forward to it – I’m a sucker for anything based on comic books.

For me the pilot was so awful I didn’t make it all the way through to the end. Then I watched another episode that involved gold bars, an old girlfriend, and a Latin American country. That too was pretty bad.

But several people whose taste I trust like the show.

Would you say those two episodes are overall indicative and it just isn’t for me or are they outliers and I should check it out some more?

How’s this: This entire thread is going to be filled with spoilers running concurrently with the US broadcast. Enter and read it at your own peril.

All the episodes are kind of “stupid” like that. Just suspend your disbelief and enjoy.

obfusciatrist, Sam Stone, your names have been submitted to all Federal Departments that handles people who hate America (and don’t give me any crap about being from Little America in the North). I would avoid flying for the next 150 years. Also, your name has been handed over to the Fraternity of Death Retardant Specialists, and you will never be able to purchase their services.

Any other self-identified America haters out there?

I don’t hate America – I fought and died for my country – I just have class on Wednesdays. If only there were some way to record the show and watch it later at my convienience or even over some sort of network of interconnecting computers.
