Wasn’t he standing at her grave the previous episode? And doesn’t he have her dog?
This is one of my favorite shows, it is pure entertainment, but it isn’t 100% lightweight, either.
They better bring it back or I will write a very sternly worded letter to FOX. VERY sternley worded, I tel you.
yes and yes.
Witness protection. If it gets a second season, I’d bet that she shows up in the finale alive. TV writers are predictable.
So you’re betting that the first yes represents dome kind of a dodge? I suppose it could, but it would be a pretty unfair one. In the flashbacks the previous Chance made it clear that she died, as did Winston, IIRC.
I’m predictable too. This is usually the time when I say, “No way in hell will they do that again,” only to look like an idiot when the finale airs.
So, yeah, “No way in hell will they do that again.”
yep -
and one that apparently Chance is not aware of either.
As for Winston being ‘captured’ - part of the plan ‘take the fight to them’ and all.
Two things make me think this series won’t be continued.
Ok, 3…the third is ‘I like the series!’ It is a sign of impending doom when I like something.
1 This puts me much in mind of the ‘Out of Gas’ episode of Firely. A show that basically shows the roots and beginnings of where they are now. But they showed it <Firefly> too late; if it’d been shown earlier, people would have gotten into the show earlier, thereby boosting it’s ratings and perhaps lengthening it’s life. It seems that Human Target did kind of the same thing.
2 Bear MacCreary did the music for both Firefly and Human Target.
SIGNS OF DOOM, I SAY!!
And yep, Guerrero’s a recreation of an old flame. The skirmish scene twixt him and Chance just proves it!
I can’t edit my post, but I was wrong. Macreary did the music for BSG, not Firefly. My bad!
Ok so one less reason the show might fail to be picked up…
I get angry even reading this thread and thus entertaining the possibility that this won’t get picked up. Over the course of one season it went from “entertaining bad-TV” to “quality fun stuff that you can’t take seriously” to “actually pretty damn good considering most of what’s out there”. The cast works well together, they pull all sorts of great guest stars, and it’s shot out of basically nowhere to become one of my favorites of the season. I want it back and I want it back now.
Also, Lassie’s goatee was ridiculous. It either ruined the episode or completely made it, I don’t know which.
Those were more over the top than was the norm for the first season, which ended this past Wednesday.
All the episodes had suspend-your-disbelief stunts, but those two were the worst. I think they wanted good promo stunts to tease the early episode and get interest up. The crazy stunts settled down a bit after that.
For those of us wondering, the second season returns October 1st, according to Fox.
I’m having trouble trying to quantify my disinterest.
I love all of the actors.
I like the premise, and the fact that it’s based on a comic.
I feel like I’ve enjoyed the episodes that I’ve watched.
And yet, for some reason, it has always ended up as the least priority of watching on my tivo list. And eventually when it came time to free up space, I erased everything except for the origin episode without much dismay. And then eventually erased even that episode without much dismay.
Guerrero’s character is very interesting. Would he be classified Chaotic-Neutral? Or is he now Chaotic Good?
I think Winston was Lawful Good and is currently Lawful Good (but struggling to remain so). Chance was Lawful Evil and became Lawful Good. Although the “Lawful” part may be questionable… he ultimately did not kill Baptiste in cold blood. In the same situation, Guerrero would not have a problem with pulling the trigger.
Here’s a little joke I just thought of: What does Winston carry in his holster?
Answer: His Emerson Cod Piece
*jackdavinci, you clearly do hate America.
That would seem to be the inescapable conclusion.
I didn’t know it was still on - I meant to catch it in reruns, but haven’t even seen an advert for it.
Significant changes for next year, including a new female “boss” and the exit of Bear McCreary’s music.
I have to say, while Bear’s musical contribution to BSG was quite noticeable and also integral to the plot, I didn’t really notice it at all in HT.
