Il mio viaggio in Italia, an MMP

You know that the range of our OPs has stretched from a few words that added up to: “Go!” to the amazingly eloquent, right, Soapy? We like 'em all.

Off to church.

GT

Mornin’ all.

Hope you’re all doing well.

I’m up and waiting on my coffee.

We had a great time last night, although we did come home earlier than we normally would have. We were both very tired for some odd reason and just wanted to come home. I’m thinking that today might be a very nice day to sneak a nap in. That’d be nice.

**Soapy, **I hope your mom can find meds that will make her comfortable. Meant to say that earlier, but kept forgetting to add it to my posts from yesterday.

I’ve been cooking/baking up a storm today. TVMan is travelling north to see his son so I’ve made CDT’s, spicy breaded chicken, and chocolate covered popcorn. Hmmm… That doesn’t sound like alot but I’m tired enough for it to have been.

Too bad there’s no nap in my forseeable future.

I’m supposed to be out in the yard raking up leaves, mulching the beds, and doing all those other little winterizing tasks that really need doing sooner rather than later (esp as they’re calling for mixed snow and rain later this week).

Supposed being the key word.

Can’t seem to motivate myself out of vegetating with a book and a kitteh at the moment. Blargh.

ETA: Pie, don’t suppose you could send some of that chocolate covered popcorn this way? I’ve had a wicked bad popcorn craving for almost a week now. kthx.

Yawn! Mornin’, y’all–I’ve actually been up for almost two hours but I’ve been bizzy… I’m trying to get off teh intartoobz a bit more because I’m a little stressed out with all the election stuff and need to bury my brain in some fluff for a while. So I have a Mercedes Lackey book and I’m thinking of baking some cashew butter cookies with chocolate chips this afternoon. I’m such a slut!

Nice pattern, Spaz! I love doing counted cross stitch, but once you get done with the darned things all you can do is frame them and I have a small house with small amounts of wall space. Too many framed things would be bad… I used to do cute little patterns on t-shirts using waste canvas, especially onesies for new babies, but nobody’s having babies at the moment. Now my rule is that I can cross stitch stuff that’s no larger than my two hands, that tends to keep it down a bit. I really should do some practice blackwork, that’s always fun and can come in handy if it’s done on narrow bands–sooner or later something will need a trim embellishment, and voila!

I saw what you did there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Deep breaths, ** Soapy, ** you can do it!

It’s supposed to be non-rainy today and we were planning on winterizing the back gazebo area but it’s not looking promising at the moment. Darn it–it was okay yesterday but I was too loopy to be trusted on a roof. Grr.

You have my sympathy, Taters, my house is old and weird and was originally a garage so many things about it are less than optimal, shall we say. One of those things is the plumbing to the washer–it’s all PVC, it’s done stupidly and the only way we could get the cold water hose on the washer to hook up to the plumbing was by feeding the tube over the end of the PVC and putting a shitload of hose clamps on it–unless, of course, we want to turn off the water to the house at the street (no place else to turn off just a part of it!) completely redo the laundry plumbing then have the water off for 24 hours as the PVC glue dries. Well, we wouldn’t leave it off that long because it really doesn’t take that much time, but still–what a pain in the ass. Anyway, before we had the PVC/hoseclamp thing figured out, the hose would randomly fly off and start pouring water all over that end of the house. One day I came home and there was standing water all over the laundry, bathroom and kitchen and it was lapping at the carpeting. I guess it’s good in a way that my house is settled a bit to the north so all the water stays on the linoleum side… All I have to say is “thank the gods for shop vacs!”

Water IN the house is a huge phobia for me–probably is for most PNW residents, really…

Howdy Y’all! Ima go over to ol’ y’all know’s place in a bit. He should be home within the hour. I told him I was comin’ over to make supper and spend the night and he told me that’d make him happy.

I might or might not sneak in a post from his place.

Later Y’all!

I’ve been tending towards brooding this afternoon. Not a good sign.

Beef stew is cooking on the stove. Cat is demanding dinner NOW. And a suspicious thump just came from the front of the house.

Suspicious thump was Petercat knocking over the trash can so he could get at the absorbent lining from the beef packaging. Someone is sleeping in my room until I take the trash out.

New bed is here and set up in the guest room (which no longer stinks, thanks to much shampooing and some arm-n-hammer carpet de-stinker) and my poor mother-in-law is going to have a tough time getting into bed - it’s a TALL mattress. Comfy, tho - a good guest bed. Daughter and son-in-law think we should give it to them. I pointed out that they’re both working, and interestingly enough, they had enough money to buy a computer this week. So, no, they’re not getting the new bed.

Third load of laundry is washing. **FCD **is installing his wood storage racks in the garage. In a little bit, I’m going to stick the chicken in the rotisserie for supper. Then I’ll whip up some cornbread.

I sold the garage fridge today - got a whopping $50 for it, and I’m glad to have it out of the garage.

Can’t believe my weekend is almost over. Bummer.

Hi everybody!

I’ve spent my weekend alternately doing laundry, planning meals, buying food, and cooking. And vegging quite a bit. That’s my favorite part!

I’ve boiled a chicken, and I’ll make chicken and dumplings later this week. Tonight we’re having chicken fajita quesadillas, beans, rice and guacamole. Other dinners this week will be ribeyes and baked NOT, poke chops with rice & gravy, chili, and bbq chicken legs and sausage. It’s still summer down here, and I can grill all the time! I grill even if it’s cold outside.

Mr Rebo put all new white switches and switchplates on my newly painted walls. They look all shiny and clean! He also mowed the back yard. That is one minor problem with year round summer…

See y’all tomorrow. Back to work. Boo. Hiss.

Oh - I will volunteer for Monday 11/24. I’m taking a week’s vacation Thanksgiving week. Just remind me!

Hi folks-

Thanks for all the well wishes for my mom. The recent med she’s seems to be working!!! And the SSATs seemed to go well, though it’'s hard to tell how accurate his perception is. We’ll find out soon enough, so for now we’re just happy it’s over!

Will be putting up the MMP closer to late, late tonight. But don’t get antsy, it’ll be there.

gt- I’m taking notes…

Big accomplishment so far today: lotsa laundry. And I’m ready to do another bunch (including blankets and such) on Tuesday. Go me.

I’m about to add swampy and Rebo to the upcoming MMP list.

Kinda tired, but looking for more stuff to do. I really need to go through the house and garage and sort out things to take to the consignment shop, things to go to Goodwill, and things to recycle or otherwise pitch.

Back later.

GT.

First on six and didn’t even notice!

Howdy from ol’ y’all know who’s puter!

Gotta go now… somebody needs to be “welcomed” home.

Rotissed chickie has been inhaled. I am stuuuuuuuuuuuuffed! I’ve got to fold the clothes that are in the dryer, then load the dishwasher. And thus endeth my weekend.

<sigh>

Yay on Swampy and appreciatin’, cause he’s a good guy.

I found a yarn store in my neighborhood - it’s fairly new and they not only hold classes, they also have “sit and stitch” things once a week or so and I think I’m going to try to make it to some of them. You bring whatever project you’re working on and they provide light refreshments and hopefully you get to schmooze with other knitters/crocheters. Woo hoo!

pssst… New MMP

A bit early, but who’s checking?
