You should be seeing it in the symbol font.

Darwin’s Finch, in Symbol font now available in ATMB somebody reports having trouble seeing the typeface in Netscape, and Shayna mentions the possibilty that you may not see it if you don’t have it installed. All of the above presumes you’re on a Windows system. I suppose you might not see it if you’re using a Mac, Linux or Unix box.
I distinctly see the subliminal message amongst all those symbols, I don’t find it the least bit amusing.

I’m not falling for it, either. I took my nude photos with a 35mm and will be scanning them in once I develop them. I will not be pushed around by your sneaky little subliminal suggestions, as you can see.
Don’t bother to scan. Mail me the film. 
I used to use the symbols from that font to pass notes with a friend of mine in high school. I’m pleasantly surprised to discover that I can still read it.
Interestingly, I do have the Symbol font installed. The problem appears to be with Netscape 6 – when I switch back to 4.77, I can see the symbols without a problem.

Alas, I realized that after I posted, when I read another thread of yours. My sincerest apologies. I guess I must think of evil squid as males (although I hadn’t realized evil squids were the sort of thing one could justifiably make a generalization about, but it just goes to show you how enriching the SDMB truly is).
