A week I wouldn’t like to be repeated.
Keyser Soze (for those who aren’t familiar with previous posts, he is our Blue Persian- came to us as a stray and has three legs due to a dog attack so he’s been in the wars) was due for a grooming session on Tuesday- that is he goes under and gets shaved as it is about to get very hot here.
That went fine. Comes Thursday and he is convulsing and there is vomit, blood and cat poop arriving faster than I can clean up. I was getting very concerned- he is elderly (probably between 17 to 20 years old) and has kidney disease.
Fortunately I was able to get him to the vets who saw him pretty much straight away. Seems he had some sort of bladder spasm and there were worries about tumours and blood disorders. That seems to have passed and he is back to his normal cranky self.
Six trips to the vet during the week and my credit card got hit up for about $2000 but pets- what else do you do?
I hope that was his first and last!)
