I knew it was an animal/organism and it started with a vowel from the structure of the first sentences, still took several guesses about habitat and so forth before I got it.

It helps that I’ve degrees in Chemistry & Astrophysics, so recognizing the “states of matter” and the quoted low pressures kinda popped it for me. Biology and zoology are still rough for me though.

My first guess for #53 was the second time I guessed part of the title from the get go, my 5th guess was the other word and therefore the solution - except another dreaded typo. So ensued 12 further aimless guesses before I realised.
