I bought a glockenspiel today.
The soup and breadsticks (frozen breadsticks which I thoughtfully baked) were nummy! Just the thing on a cool, windy day. I shall freeze what is left of the soup. Nice to have homemade soup on hand. I have a cake in the oven as I post. Makin’ the cake tonight means less to do tomorrow. Go Me!
Still no word on Beverly’s funeral. Looks like it’ll be graveside Thursday. Her sister has not met with the funeral folks cause they have been super busy with three funerals today plus that many tomorrow. However, she has been promised that someone will come and meet with her at her home today. They have been known to do such things in the evenin’ so we shall see.
Ruble cool story about the cannon!
Spidey I gather a good time was had by all.
Headache. Becoming a habit. May have to find out what is causing them. It is an all over headache too. Neck up. Dammit.
We are having breakfast for supper as it’s cold and breakfast sounds good. Cold being low 70s. I know, I know.
Very cool!
Worked, came home, walked Gordie. Making Italian Chicken with rice
Cool story, Ruble. If I ever need to move a cannon, I’ll call you.
Gesundheit!
Welcome back! But most people crap in the toilet.:p;):dubious:
Should we send you a sweater butters?
sunny, back in the olden days of paper paychecks, I once dug through two trash bags that I had already taken to the curb to find one.
It sounds like you had a fun evening spidey.
I have hot water!
The manager got someone in here today to check it out. Aparently, the reset on the heater itself had shut it off (I checked the breaker box right off). I’ve done laundry in warm water and done dishes without having to heat water on the stove. Yay!
Are you going to be a Mummer?
I bought a new (Oppo)suit today, because it was a better color than the pants I was originally planning on wearing tomorrow. I will be fabulously, horribly, scarily* funny.
I saw a Jeep parked by the fenced-off retention basin, you know the thing used to catch excess water like when you have flash flood conditions, like yesterday. There was a [del]guy[/del] lazy slug squatting down in the basin reading. His dog was sitting about 20 yards away. I guess if he’s too lazy to walk there, he’s too lazy to, you know, actually play with said pup.
- Scary as in OMG, WTF someone made those things rather than [del]Killer Klown[/del] Doggio scary.
Well, the ‘prep’ team came around and my house is now ready for painting…all I need to see are some painters tomorrow. Been waiting over a month for them, but hopefully the job can be done in a day.
Refereed a girls soccer game this evening, no problems but I expect to be sore come the morning. Check cashed and money donated (neighbor kid is playing baseball at the middle school and has to shill for $$ to support the team), so life is fairly good. And temperatures went from the 40’s to the 60’s, so who can complain about that?
I’m home and the OW made meatloaf -------- the other reason I married her.
I prefer Grapes style suits.
Yay for hot water, red!
Ruble, meatloaf, and she’ll fetch a 3 Pounder? You’d be insane not to marry her.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Did someone shorten the nights while I was gone? Stoopit 5AM comes way too early! Plus I slept wrong, I guess - my neck is really sore down the right side. Hope I don’t have to turn my head really fast for any reason.
Happy Halloween, Happy Tuesday, happy happy happy…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 42 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 77 and N.O.S. for the day. That’s the pattern around here. Cool nights and warm afternoons. Today I shall make vittles to take over to Linda’s house (got the cake and N.O.T. sallit done last night) and do laundry. How’s that for a day of excitatement?
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify and get busy. I also need to call and order fried chikin. Rah.
Happy Tuesday and Happy Hallowe’en Y’all! Also Happy Reformation Day!
Blurf Drove a block and the light showing a low tire came on. I went back home and one of hubs employees plugged it for me right on the spot. So my fairly new Coopers now have three out of four plugs. Not happy and when I bitched hubby said “there are so many people worse than you” so I cant even complain .:smack:
Tis Halloween and the Child care folks will be bringing the kids around trick or treating. They supplied the candy and one of my employees is dressed as a pink crayon so I guess she will have fun.
EOM too. I guess I can start on that.
You can have that suit for $100. Same company but different design than what I’m wearing later today, but I got mine on monster sale.
& now for this important reminder:
Tomorrow is the next-to-last, & best, [SIZE=“7”]cheep chawklat day of the year!!![/SIZE]
I have my route of pillage planned although the really great deals will be more Saturday or Monday.
Other than that I’ve been up and getting the bubble-foggers and stuff ready. The OW is taking half a day so she can feed the neighborhood kids while I head off to Da Jungle. Which also gets the car out of range of the bubbles which leave terrible soap rings. Other than that just another day in paradise.
We will do our usual Halloween - turning out all the lights, drawing the curtains, and not answering the door. Between a yappy dog and an escape artist cat, we just don’t want to deal with it. Plus the one time we did, there weren’t 20 kids - it just ain’t worth it.
Lunch. Josh has come thru with a bunch of work - surprise!!! So I shall continue to be productive.
And my neck is hurting less, so there’s that.
'Beamer has his costume as the Yip, Yip Martian from Sesame Street/The Muppets. 'Beamette is the girl from Spirited Away. I will post a picture later. They are both trick or treating with friends tonight.
Hubby is having a wisdom tooth pulled this afternoon.
Other than that, not much to report. Happy Halloween everyone!
Tomorrow is the day most of the stores sell cheap, vaguely chocolate flavored crap they’ve had in the warehouse for months.
However, if you know where to go, you can sometimes score some actual chocolate.
Good luck.
Tonight, as in years past, many, if not most, of the merchants on the main drag downtown will be handing out candy to the little monsters. Somebody at some time thought this would be safer, for somebody. It does confine all (or most) of the little miscreants to one semi-supervised area. Anyway, since Wifey’s real estate office is on that main drag, the denizens of said office will dress up and hand out candy, and we will prolly go over there and help out. It’s better than trying to corral two small territorial dogs who want to attack all the monsters. We’ll leave our lights off and most of the chillins cruising the neighborhoods will leave our house alone.
Yes, I am a wet blanket.
Kit-Kat bars and M&Ms (with peanuts) are ready for deployment. The painters arrived about 0800 and are painting away. Grocery shopping list is prepared for tomorrow, so all is well.
