I'm back in the MMP!!

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. I get a short day today, and it’s my Firday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 81 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Temps will creep back up to the mid 80s over the next two to three days. Weather be weird. Beppie’s graveside service is at eleven this mornin’ followed by N.O.L. at the church. That’s the big thing on the agenda today.

I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then at some point purtification for funeralization must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

And it’s my Firday - yay! What shall I accomplish today? We shall see, shan’t we?

The drive in was rough - I’m finding that driving at night is a real challenge, even when it’s familiar territory. I’ve always had lousy depth perception on the road, but it’s even worse in the dark. Add oncoming headlights to the mix, and, yeah, challenge. That’s the word I’ll use.

Happy Thursday!

blurf Off to the orthopedic dr for a shot in my knee. I brought my skirt. I always wear a skirt for my knee shots so I don’t have to get semi nekkid. Added a new vendor to my database this morning. Tis escape room # 2. Like we need two on those on this tiny island but whatever. The fellow who owns #2 is a genuine war hero. He is a battlefield anesthesiologist and a combat ice climber instructor. Who knew?

Lunch, sorta. Just as I started eating, Josh and Brent dropped stuff on my desk. Everything’s a crisis.

I do love my job, but maybe I should leave during lunch. Eat in my car. Something. OK, they’re not insisting I stop and fix their drawing, but I felt like complaining. So sue me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mooommm there is merit to not be around during lunch. Is there a lunch room or an empty conference room you could go read a book in?

Rainy and cloudy today. Just your average Fall day in Orygun, in other words.

Trying to decide whether to nap or do some adulting then nap. Decisions, decisions.

Butters, and combat ice climber instructor? In the Keys? The mind boggles (and yes, he’s probably retired/on other duty, but still…

Swampy, condolences and hope the service and N.O.L. went well.

Outside painting is done and somebody should be over today to pickup some ladders that are residing in the back yard. Also expecting someone to examine my heating problem (and it’s under warranty, yea me!) and then have a soccer meeting to attend. Still need to get provisions for November, so hopefully the visits will be soon, or it’ll be pushed back to Firday.

Otherwise all is well.

Not exactly, I just didn’t want to do it less than everyone else

Pretty happy about the allotment though, it’s a lot smaller’n my old one, but the site is far friendlier and more sociable, and it’s in much, much better condition than my old place. Good enough to actually get a crop in my first year, without having to spend months clearing grass and trees and stuff, which is exactly what I need.

Howdy Y’all! Beppie’s service was very nice. A nephew who could not be there due to health reasons sent a letter which was read. It was a nice tribute to her. N.O.L. was wonderful. I’m talkin’ church lady cookin’ at its finest! There was even homemade chawklit cake and ‘nanner puddin’. YUM! We achieved nappage and now I have a load of laundry in the washer. Any need to feed will be via forage. I’m still full of church lady eats.

How far is it from your home?

Went shooting (normal firearms – no cannons) and got everything cleaned and put away. Now its off to another day of adventure in the Amazon.

Where do you go shooting and what do you shoot?

Home. Ribs for supper, with crinkle cut fries and some sort of vegetable TBD. Tomorrow is my sweetie’s b-day, so I’m taking him out to breakfast. He didn’t want cake, but he asked for bananas foster - so that’s what I’ll be making him. Never made it before, but how hard can it be?

Glad it’s my weekend - I need it.

OMG, that last batch of ribs that I smoked are amazing!!! I went a little heavier than usual with the rub and I half wrapped the slabs so they got smoke, but they also cooked in their juices. I had **FCD **warm them in the oven low and slow this afternoon, and they were falling apart when I pulled them out of the oven. Happy tummies!!

Couple o’miles. 3-4ish.

It’s almost on the way to where my bees are (I’m not allowed bees on site, so they’re staying put), and not much of a detour on the way to and from college. Considering how few sites there are around, I cannot complain, it’s possibly the closest option.

It’s also startlingly cheap; only £25 for the year, and I’m getting it free until January.

Have had one bit of an annoyance today, I’ve been getting threatening letters about not paying a gas bill. Problem is, the date is from well before I moved in, also, I was told, by the agents, and I have this in writing, that I wasn’t with that gas company any more, so I sent the first copy to my landlord, and, as they told me, have ignored anything else coming from that company.

Because, hey, I have no contract with them, I’m with another supplier, the landlord was going to pay that bill from before I moved, and it’s all not my problem, wait for the bill from the new supplier right?

Guess what? They didn’t actually change supplier for the gas, just the electric. So, those letters for ‘Occupant’ that I’ve been casually assuming were junk mail because they weren’t from my supplier are actually bills. Oh, and the landlord’s on holiday for three weeks, so I’m just going to have to pay it all and then maybe try and reclaim some later. Bah.

I’ll bet you can’t get the money back. :dubious:

I had a nosh before I took the meds I needed to take. It’s not necessary but I find it better for me to have sump’n in my tummy before takin’ meds. Also I read for an hour. I try to do that every day. It’s supposed to be good for the mind and I need what little mind I still possess.

Nuts here’s hopin’ you can get a refund on the gas.

I doubt it’d even be possible to work out how much it should be, the agents said it was all changed over and they’d notified all the utilities that there was a new tenant- and they had, for the electric and water- but the dates for the billing period don’t even nearly match up.

It’s not a large amount, under £20 regardless, so it’s just an irritation, if I’m honest. I’m more annoyed that I was given misinformation, which I took at face value, having no reason to do otherwise, and that nearly led to me having the gas cut off.

The landlord is a very nice guy, and I do suspect that if I did kick up, I actually would be able to get it back, but I’m not sure if it would be worth it. It also wasn’t him that provided me with the misinformation; he only hired the agency to organise the rental 'cos he’d had an accident, broken a hip, and couldn’t drive or get up stairs for a few months.

Moooom, this time of year, I’m looking forward to the time change so’s I can drive to irk in daylight.

swampy, church lady cooking is da bomb! Too bad someone has to pass for me to eat it.

My manager made the announcement today that he was taking a different position in the company. :frowning: I’ve worked for him longer than anyone else in my career (12 1/2 years). I’m trying to take the positive trak in that I will have a senior manager in purchasing as a contact.

I’m spoiling my daughter - I just placed another order for preggo clothes for her. I’m getting stuff on sale and having it sent directly to her. Not particularly fancy stuff, but it’s not like she’ll need it very long - just till April.

I think it’s time for ice cream. Right?

First day of winter & it was in the 70°s out! I gotta go our for a few but have hours of stuff I should do & wanna go to bed at a more reasonable hour. I didn’t go to bed until just before 4am because I passed out on the sofa somewhere between the final out & the awarding of the trophy.

May I suggest you read for a minimum of 36 hours each & every day.
