I meant the other dozen* people that posted “you don’t have to send me an email either”, as if keeping track of those that don’t need to be replied to was going to help.
*give or take—I’m not going to bother to count as it would invalidate my point

Thanks Cicero, I wasn’t simply making a joke. Mostly I was thanking **TubaDiva **for bothering to reply to individual emails rather than the possible alternative “If they haven’t figured it out for themselves by now, screw 'em!”
And making the wry observation that the tedium of individual replies would not be much relieved by the additional tedium of identifying a tiny number of individuals who waived their reply in this thread.
Nor was I aware that **srzss05 **had been appointed Arbiter of All Things Humorous on this Board. 
I was giving them the benefit of the doubt that they were milking a joke dry. The only other alternative is something you realize and alluded to in your post:
That some people really believe they are “helping” by posting that she should keep track of two lists; and that of course is ridiculous.

Phew - I don’t feel so singled-out! I thought it was something at my end - I’d been having trouble with the wi-fi on my computer, and our tech support person was trying to remotely access my computer and he couldn’t, so I thought the two were related.
I feel so un-special now :).

Received a very nice e-mail reply from TubaDiva today, which I wasn’t expecting since the problem was already explained in this thread. Thank you, TubaDiva, for taking the time to reply, that was very thoughtful and must have been an assload of work to reply to all the messages.
I’m waiting for the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that shows a huge increase in productivity during the time the board was down.
It all really depends on how she’s keeping track. I mean, she has to be keeping track somehow, or else she’s sending multiple replies to the same dozen people and nobody else is getting theirs. If she’s sending an individual email to each person, then yes, I can see keeping track of a list of “no need to replies” should be fairly easy. Just move them to the “already replied” pile and she’s done. Even hand compiiling and checking a second list is going to be less work than typing emails for each of those people. Even with a heavy use of copy/paste on the explanation. YMMV.
I’ll let TubaDiva determine if it helps or not, but I wouldn’t discount the idea prima facia.

I appreciate all of you that deferred but it was actually easier and faster to run down the list and cut/paste. I hope you don’t think I spammed you or disregarded you. I was looking at all of this in another account and didn’t go back and forth between here and there, I just couldn’t, it was too much.
Which reminds me – a few of you had my reply to you bounce back because some email antispam agent (not spamarrest, something else, with Earthlink maybe?), it wouldn’t deliver the email to you, kept saying “your email has expired and we’re not sending it.” These emails were like 3 hours old, how can they expire? I’m perplexed. But I did try and I’m sorry it didn’t work out better in those isolated cases.
Had to trickle them emails out over a couple of days – otherwise Google thinks you’re a spammer and shuts down your account – and I don’t have mass email capacity on the Straight Dope account. So it was glance at email, open email, insert response, send, process, glance at next email, open email …
All told somewhere near 1000 emails.
Your patience and consideration in this has been greatly appreciated. I’ve gotten some lovely responses too, and everyone has been just really good through all of this. (No scotch and no chocolate, though. Dammit.)
