I'm eating a banana split for lunch

Amen. I’ve never had cake for breakfast, but in my family, if there’s any leftover pie in the house, it would be considered heresy to have anything else for breakfast.

Also in my family, waffles and impossible apple cobbler are considered perfectly acceptable supper choices.

I agree! He needs the attention more!

Anyone remember that Bill Brassky sketch from SNL where they would make the outrageous claims about their friend. Well in one episode it was claimed that he hunted down and killed all the Banana Splits and that all of them begged for their lives…Except for Fleagle!

Take from that what you will.

Some Rite Aids still have the Thrifty ice cream counters. I was much surprised to find this out when I had to stop off in Canyon Country for some Excedrin. Mmmm malt ball ice cream! I’m not sure if they still make a banana split, but I’d bet some do. I guess this gives me an excuse to investigate the CC Rite Aid further when I come home from my last final on Friday.

Me, I had pizza for breakfast, a burrito for lunch, and a sensible bomb pop and martini dinner (I added extra olives for the fiber).

You’ve got to realize that out here in the boondocks we don’t have a Premium Ice Creme Parlor. Hell, we’re still using hand crank phones and steam radios. Besides, I eschew places that use “Creme” in the name.

And for Queen Bruin we do have a Rite-Aid but they don’t have an ice cream bar.

I don’t think the one in Lancaster does, either, but it’s been ages since I’ve been in that one. The last time I was in it it was still called “Thrifty” and it had a Lucky’s next door.

It was damn near serendipitous to find one in Canyon Country though!

Mmm…'nana spilt at a soda fountain, I’m with you there.

They closed the one at Perkin’s Drug Store when I was a lil’ kid. My aunt Barbara used to take me. We’d have a tuna melt and we’d share a 'nana split (yeah, but that’s how I said it when I was a kid.)

Miss that.

We use to have this for breakfast and call it “poached egg on toast.” The pound cake was the toast, the peach half the egg yolk and the whipped cream the white.

Banana splits remind me of the time I went to Amsterdam with a friend of mine. We got really stoned, and then went to a restaurant (the ones with the pictures of the food on the outside) and got steaks. At the end, we all decided to eat a banana split. We thought it was so hilarious, because when would you see three mid-twenties aged dudes all eating a banana split for desert?

No Banana Split for lunch here, just a split banana :smack:

I like choclate cake for breakfast. 'Specially the chocolate frosted devil’s food doughnuts from the Casey’s out on the highway. It’s round, it’s got a hole in the middle, that makes it breakfast food!

We usually just had eggs or cereal for breakfast, but Mom would sometimes make pancakes for dinner because she had the time to make them from scratch.

The only other time we had pancakes was Christmas morning.
