I'm getting my first tattoo! Tell me how much it doesn't hurt!

Heh, I just remembered that my mom got a Flower the skunk on her hip a couple of years ago, Miller. Like your mom, she’s the absolute last person on earth you would accuse of being low, skanky or anything else Muad’Dib is slinging. You’re correct, he’s an ass and I for one am not going to feed him any more carrots. Well, that’s what (jack)asses eat, right?

I did not say she was any of those things. I said that it looks that way.

Oh, well that’s entirely different.

Here you go.

I am sorry this thread was so thoroughly hijacked.

fizzestothetop– That’s some good ink.

Everyone, thanks for the support and the compliments on the tat. It’s day two and I’m still very pleased. It doesn’t hurt anymore, just kinda feels like a mild sunburn. Everytime I go by a mirror I have to stop and take a loook at it. I love it!

My guy said to wait a month and see if it needs touching up any and if it does for me to come in and he’ll touch up for free. So I’m gonna do that and if it needs touch ups then I’ll be sure to tip him generously then. One thing I noticed was that he left the pocket off of Alice’s dress and while not a major detail it’s a good excuse to go back and have him touch up my tattoo (even if it doesn’t need any other fixes).

And if all else fails I’ll just show up and hand him some cash and apologise profusely for not tipping him.

And if I insulted anybody who has a butterfly tattoo that was not my intent. Butterfly tats have just become increasingly trendy and it was the first thing that came to mind.

fizzy, I love you. You are a really cool person and you’re making my son very, very happy. You’re also an adult and responsible for your own actions.

I don’t always agree with your actions, as you know. And I generally don’t like tattoos. However, it’s your life and I respect that. And if you’re happy about your tattoo, then I’m happy for you.

FWIW, I’ve known a couple of women with visible tattoos. Both are middle-aged women with kids. Both are college grads and system analysts; one used to be my boss. One has a dolphin on her ankle; the other has a sort of braided bracelet effect on her right wrist, where she often wears a watch. This tells me that tattoos are starting to filter into not just the mainstream but people in power.

It’s like piercings. When I was a little girl in the early 60s, the popular perception of Americans in Germany was that nobody had pierced ears except girls with German mothers, and piercings were seen as lower-class and kind of skanky. A few years later, lots of female college students started to get them. Now, when I’m on Metro, I sometimes play a game with myself – find a woman with no piercings. Often I’m the only one without any.

Images change over the years. Perceptions of tattoos are changing. When you’re 80 and looking back over your life, I bet you’ll say “I’m glad I got that tattoo. And anyway, it’s my life, and if somebody else doesn’t like it, who cares?”

I am a skanky ho. Fizzy, welcome to our club. The tat looks great!

fizzestothetop-cool! BTW, you’re an Amy Brown fan too?

I think I’ll just stick to what I have now. I think it looks great as it is and even if I wanted it to be coloured I’d have no idea what colours to use since the picture is black and white. And with colour I think it might look a bit to cartoony for my tastes.

Like I said in my previous post I will tip this fellow one way or another. Either I’ll go in for a touch up and do it or if that’s not needed I’ll show up and tip him. I can’t bear the thought that he did such a good job and I didn’t even tip him.

Oh yes, I love her work. I’d really love to have one of her fairies tattooed somewhere on my body but I’m have a hard time choosing a fairy. There are several that I like well enough to have as tattoos but I just can’t decide which one I like the most! Darn her for making all her fairies so beautiful.

BTW, if you go to my link, and my dolls page-on the artist dolls-I did quite a number of Amy Brown fairies!

Hey! That looks super!

It’s a very good likeness…

That looks darn cool. XJETGIRLX, your tattoos are cool, too. I love looking at tattoo pictures for some odd reason.

Myself, I’m a HUGE wuss AND I’m pretty broke all the time, so I don’t think tattoos are for me… hehe.

Fizzestothetop…

I really love your tattoo. It is very nice. I recently got a toe ring tattooed on my toe. I love it…it’s very simple and cute. Also, I haven’t seen anyone else with one on their toe. I would like to get a sun and moon tattoed on my body…though I am not sure where yet.

Nice tat.
It’s your body, your money, your life, and if you’re happy, well, who cares!
It looks good, it’s original, and you like it, what more could you want from body art.

Me, I’m too fickle to find anything I could be happy with for more than 5 minutes…and my mother would disown me!

I think your tatoo is fantastic…so are those ankle tattos pic.
I myself have a dragon tatooed on the bottom of my right ribcage. It’s about 5 inches long and 2inches hight (it’s in a wavy pattern) filled black. It hurt like hell but i didn’t flinch…took the the guy a full hour non stop.

i got it over a year ago. I still love it. I got it in a place where it wouldn’t show, unless i’m wearing a sports top/ on the beach.
Everyone untill now found it very nice…and my hubby loves it.
And if i ever do regret it, well, it’s in a nice hiding place and by the time i’m 80. my boob would just hang low enought to hide it

Muad’Dib
You just posted your opinion. Everyone’s entitled to one, but it’s how you stated your prefrences in women and any body tatooing that made some feel attacked personaly.
It’s ok but be more attentive to how you post a contradicting opinion in any post…that goes to everone else too…

Thanks again guys for all the compliments. I can stress enough how pleased I am with it. I’m still in a bit of shock because I actually did it. It took so long to get to this point and I’m amazed I actually went through with it. I think the biggest thing that was holding me back was the idea of the pain. I’m the biggest wuss in the world and I absolutely hate needles but I faced my fear and I did it. Yay me!

And yay you guys too! Y’all rock.

I think I officially feel like a Doper now.

I’ve got two tats and saving for my third.
I didn’t get them to be trendy but they seem to be trendy designs. Yin-yang on my right shoulder with a rose and a heart, rose, tribal design on my lower back.
They both mean something special to me as will the next one since I had a friend draw it up for me. And hey, it’s a butterfly to boot.
But it fits me. It’s gothy, hippy looking with lots of color. That is my life.
They are easily covered when need be and can be shown when I feel the urge.
My mom has two of them she got about 15 years ago and then she got another about two years ago. Not the type of person you would expect it from either.
I’m another one who has a pain thing going on so I wouldn’t have been a good one to respond about that. I loved it!
I also have peircings that I adore.
Tats can be addicting.
Yours turned out lovely!
I know I owe Hamadryad tat pictures for her doper tats pages but I can never seem to get a nice picture of them.

I have one in my left thigh and it really hurt but I love it. Mine is the moon and sun together. I want another one and think that a toe ring would be cool. How much does it hurt? I imagine it will be more painfull.
