I'm getting my first tattoo! Tell me how much it doesn't hurt!

( My bolding )

You can just count me in that 90% of all adults on the planet who find being attacked by ILLITERATE, POORLY SPOKEN adults to be a lot worse than being criticized by well-spoken literate adults who have the good sense to proofread their posts before attacking strangers by using big difficult to spell words like…" lightly ".

Your tattoo is beautiful. I’ve wanted one for quite a few years, I got a Henna a few years ago in Provincetown and loved how it looked. Congratulations on chosing an image that has always pleased and captivated you.

Cartooniverse

That tattoo looks gorgeous.

Muad’Dib, go away.

fizzestothetop, may I just join the chorus and say your tattoo looks great! It is dead cool and only wish I was around to try and say a few pick up lines!

Personally I have one tattoo at the moment, but planned to get more. Call me a bit of a sado-machogists, but mine didn’t really hurt. It felt annoying at best… in fact it made me slightly horny… bad endorphines!

While I don’t agree that 90% of men find tattoos skanky on girls, I will say it is properly harder for girls to get a good tattoo then for guys, if you get it in the wrong spot it can look skanky. Yes, bloody double standards. Backs and hips and maybe the top of ones foot seem to be the sort of place that really work, but getting it done on the boob or arm or wrist… well it does make one look like a Jerry Springer guest.

But most girls wouldn’t get a tattoo there anyway.

By the same token, while girls getting tattos on the small of the back is wildly popular, if a guy gets it there, they are looked upon as kinda… fruity… heck I was seriously thinking of getting one there for a while, but the pressure turned me off getting one there - my currently plan is to get a band on my right shoulder (I already have some chinese symbols on my left one) and some sort of Celtic Sun Symbol on my calf.

And for some reason I wrist tattoos make me feel ikky… whether they are on a guy or a girl. Don’t ask me why though.

But back to fizzestothetop, once again, your tattoo rocks!

It’s worth pointing out that he “went away” about nine months ago.

Wonder how in the heck this thread got resurrected, but anyhow.

As it happens, fizzy is currently considering her second tattoo. I don’t know the details because she hasn’t decided on one yet, but IIRC the first one went well-enough.

Anyone who wants to debate the merits of getting a tattoo, or other issues that were raised earlier in this thread (and in a pit thread, I might add), is free to take it elsewhere or hold their piece:)

Same way the BBQ pit thread was resurected. Someone linked to the thread in a recent thread. I got confused and thought it was a new thread I had missed while on vacation. (I had never heard of Muad’didbibittybobbityboo, or whatever, I assumed he was a new poster.) I posted to it and voila!! Reanimated thread.

When I looked at the dates, I realized I had made a mistake.
::Begs for forgivness::

It’s a pleasant change to see a tattoo that is worthy of comment. Most I see are just “ho-hum” but I would feel compelled to ask you about yours. Sir John Tenniel would probably be thrilled to see where his work ended up.

After all, “And what is the use of a book,” thought Alice, “without pictures or conversations?”

Holy night of the living dead threads!

Thanks again to compliments for my tattoo. It’s 9 months old now and I still thoroughly enjoy it. Pun is right in that I am planning my next tattoo. Trying to save up the funds for it, and I have an idea in mind I’m just trying to decide on placement. Seems like all the good spots are covered in stretch marks.:stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve also considered going with more Alice pieces and creating a large theme piece on my back. We’ll see about that one.

I’ve had my first bumped thread! Whee!

I’ll tell ya what’s ugly and lowbrow…bad spelling and your shitting all over Fizzy’s thread. Where the hell are your manners, Mr. Social Etiquette Genius?

I love body art, but not on me. I haven’t found a tattoo that I’m sure would please me for the rest of my life. But I love looking at other people’s tattoos. Especially the big storytellers. I once knew a woman whose tattoos all told stories of important events in her life. She was quite proud of each one.

Gah. Didn’t know that this was a revived thread. Thanks for the clarification, Miller.
