Yes, you’re right, of course.
I don’t remember if the question was “What city’s capitol…?” or “What city’s capital…?” The answer (Denver) only makes sense if it were the former. If the question was “capital”, then it should have been “What state’s capital…?”
Does anyone know which way they spelled it?
Sorry if I seem so hung up on this, but this is the first time I’ve noticed anything like this on Jeopardy. They’re usually quite precise.
I was on Jeopardy three times and I blew off watching it on TV. This is not because I’m so cool, but because the shows were on at 2:00 AM. I did tape them, but the TV station screwed up and showed a public service announcement over one of the Final Jeopardy questions. By the way, if you think listening to a tape recording of your voice is awkward, you should watch yourself sweating it out on TV.
I never got no stinking pen though.

This did not happen while I was there, but I am a big guy and reasonably confident that I could take Alex. Also, my taping was on a Tuesday after he had been in a fairly serious auto accident the previous Saturday. So he was probably sore from that incident and not itchin’ for a fight. He’s also pretty old and may no longer desire to engage in fisticuffs with contestants. It could also be that shaving his moustache has had a Samson-like effect on him rendering unable to perform his previous feats of superhuman strength and random violence.
I started watching you, AugestWest, but you just infuriated the hell out of me by buying all those vowels when it was OBVIOUS what the puzzle was, so I turned the channel. I turned back just in time to watch you lose the Showcase Showdown. Wow, you really overestimated the cost of a trip to a Turkish prison! You should have used one of your lifelines.
It’s a good thing you won the immunity challenge, because I think they’d have voted you off the island.
Can we get a recap of the highlights here? I didn’t watch it last night.
We can’t watch the tape of Mom – it’s just…I don’t know, it’s not like she made an idiot of herself or anything (anything but!) but it brings back the nausea I felt sitting in the studio watching the taping. Ulp. And it’s worse for her. Nonetheless, it’s seriously cool.
I will definitely watch today!

At Final Jeopardy, there was perhaps $2,000 separating first and last place. Everyone knew the correct response was “Denver”, but Augest wagered the most. Woohoo! He wins!

Just watched the rerun. You done real good, son. Real good. I knew most of the first round answers but would have got killed in ballet and would have choked on the Final Jeopardy answer, since I drew a total blank. So you’d a wooped me. I hope you keep on a roll tonight.

The category was something along the lines of “Whatcha Gonna Do?” and the answer (remember your Jeopardy! terminology!) was GONNA VISIT THIS WEBSITE THAT BILLS ITSELF AS “AMERICA’S FINEST NEWS SOURCE”.
Frank, I was a nervous wreck as I watched last night. Everytime you didn’t buzz in on time I thought I’d die. I knew you knew the answers, I was jumping up and down shouting “Let Frank answer!” What a relief when you came through in the end. You made a gutsy wager on Final Jeopardy. Huzzah!
