I leave for Reno tomorrow morning. I will be there until September 2, when I leave for China. If all goes well, I will return on September 16, with an agreement to consult for a Chinese company. This is, I fervently hope, the end of two plus years of unemployment.
Hey, good for you Louis! While employment is nice regardless of the location, as an added plus is this a place you’d wanted to visit?
I’m anxious to hear what the conditions will be like and, of course, if you’ll still have internet access so you can keep us appraised.
We will be in Beijing from the 9th or 10th to the 14th, on our way to bring home our daughter. Where will you be in China?
Believe it or not, I don’t know where I will be—I fly into Bejeing and will be met by company officials. I will be given an entensive briefing in Reno before leaving, though, so I will probably know before I actually go. I’m really looking forward to it and yes, I would jump at the chance to go even if work wasn’t involved. I don’t know if I will be able to get connected to the internet or not. I understand it is pretty well government regulated in China. I’ll just have to see how it goes.
