I'm gonna be a dad soon!

I’m gonna be a dad soon!

Mrs. Guybud5 is expecting with a due date of June 28. We’re starting to get really excited these days… She’s like a wild woman, arranging and rearranging things in the nursery, buying “cuty little outfits” and such.

This is our first, so we are both awestruck at just what an amazing time this is, and how we are so quickly changing from hip young newly weds into our parents.

I just wanted to share that! Wish us luck!

Wow! Congratulations and good luck! I know it’s an old saying, but this will change your life. For the better.

Already has started to change it…

Goodbye, bright yellow Jeep Wrangler softtop with 30" all terrain tires

Hello, sensible efficent Toyota Echo 4 door.
Most people buy carseats to fit their car. We bought the carseat, realized it didn’t fit the car, and bought a different car.

But hey, it’s got a 5 speed, so I still get to have some fun. And besides, I was tired of paying for gas to feed that 14 mpg beast. Nope, don’t miss it at all… not at all (snif)

Get some sleep now, you and the mrs won’t get much during July-November or so. It’s darned tough to get used to. Steel your wits.

Best of luck!!!
PS – If you have a kid that won’t sleep, this was a godsend for us. Highly recommended.

Mazel tov! I don’t know what it is about the warm months, but everyone seems to have a surplus of babies between March and September. Have you a name for budbaby yet?

Take care and best wishes!

.:Nichol:.

Congratulations! Babies rock. Yeah, the first few months are an adjustment, but that’s why babies are so cute—so you won’t hold it against them!

Awww congrats!

What’s she havin?

Happy Baby!

A baby, apparently.

Requisite old-mother advice:

No matter how many diapers you have already bought, buy 2 dozen more.

Good luck and best wishes Guybud5 and family. New babies are very cool critters.

Congrats Guybud5.

Leechboy and I are exploring the joys of first time parenthood and it is wonderful.

Bubbaleechie is now 3 1/2 weeks old and she is just amazing. Even the smallest thing seems like a miracle - like when she follows the sound of my voice with her eyes or turns her head in my direction when I’m talking! That made me all teary.

I second the advice about getting plenty of sleep now. Also have lots of nappies on hand - we are using cloth nappies but got some disposable ones as well. Turns out that was a good idea as it is winter here in Melbourne, Australia and some days the cloth nappies just don’t dry in time and even with 4 dozen nappies I’m running out.

Also stock up on good books/videos/DVD’s as there really is nothing worth watching on TV at 3-4am when feeding Bub.

Finally - make sure all the hospital bags are packed and read to go because Bub may come early.

Give Mrs Guybud5 plenty of hugs and loving, she will need it.

Congratulations and best of luck! Be sure to keep us updated on gender, name, developments, etc.

“Mrs.Guybud5”…this is creepy. ::sniff:: They grow up so fast!

I think I’ve told you, but congrats again. I want pictures, boy!

Congratulations to you and Mrs. Guybud5.

Don’t know if its a boy or girl. We decided to make it a surprise… it seems kinda old fashioned these days, but insurance doesn’t cover it, and we think that the 200 bucks for the ultrasound was better spent on other things.

If it’s a girl: Rebecca Darlene

If it’s a boy: Christopher Michael (though not definate)

Also kicking around for boy: Anthony, Brian, Aaron, Joshua

For girl: Amirah, Anne, Christina, although “Darlene” as a middle name is a definate (my late aunt’s name)

I just remembered I never sent you a wedding gift, although I’m pretty sure I remember buying one. Anything you need for the baby?
