Congratulations, BratMan! As a five-time uncle let me tell you – being an uncle is great! You get to spoil them and do all the fun things without the hassles. I think it’s even better than being a grandparent because you don’t get asked to babysit as much! Have fun.

So…you think it’s weird that I knitted my poodle a sweater and taught her to use the same toilet I do?? (JOKE)

Your post reminds me of a great practical joke. Apparently, a wife went on vacation for a week and asked her husband to make sure to take the dogs out for their daily walk. Hubby had previously noticed that the dogs would go batshit and run around like maniacs whenever the phone rang…so…he would simply call home a few times a day, the same time every day.
However, he made the mistake of telling some friends, who snuck into his house and waited for the phone to ring. And when it did, they picked up the phone:
“WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! [PANT! PANT!] WOOF!” (click)
Must have startled the shit out of him.

Thank God she’s gotten married and knocked up since then. Maybe she’ll stop acting so much like one of those crazy cat ladies.

“KNOCKED UP!?!?!” The soul of sensitivity and diplomacy, you ain’t, my friend. Oh, and don’t let MICHI hear you say one damned word about crazy cat ladies or she’ll euthanize YOU!

I was kinda hoping for a nephew though. My brother-in-law Jim isn’t into sports, and I was hoping to pass on my baseball knowledge to someone.

Man, you’re 0 for 2 with 2 two big errors with respect to the ladies of the SDMB. There are definitely some ladies–very feminine ones, I might add, that know a fair amount about sports. Trust me on this…SHAYNA knows a fair amount about baseball. I’ll personally attest to this.
