I'm here

I’m here… I’m what one would call a lurker. I haven’t ever posted or even registered, I’ve just read some of the topics. I decided to register now and post some. Seems like a cool forum. I already have a bunch that I frequent, and I guess this is another one now.
The name comes from my site, evilhamstersoncrack.com. It’s not up yet. I can’t think of what to put on it.

Welcome to the boards, my friend.

Judging from your first post, you’ll fit in fine around here.

EvilHamsterOnCrack, be welcome. Enjoy your stay.

EvilHamsterOnCrack, hie thee immediately to the Chicago Reader offices and start running on your wheel. You will see server performance improve shortly.

Welcome to the SDMB, as long as you don’t drive a SUV you’ll be alright.

What else would an evil hamster on crack drive?

At least he spelled hamster right.

hampster? :-x. I don’t actually drive anything, but I’m a big fan of Nissans. What was that about server performance? I was noticing the site was slow… what’s up with that?

Not enough hamsters!

Hello, I must be going!

Hello and welcome to the boards! Do you mind if I call you EHOC?

Welcome from one newbie to another.

The servers are powered by hamsters running on their hamster wheels. So when the boards are slow, it’s because there aren’t enough hamsters, or they’ve just gotten lazy.

Either way, you should solve some of the server slowness somehow. Cracks a whip Now stop surfing and get running! Crack crack

[sub]Joking aside… welcome to the SDMB![/sub]

Are people just bolding other peoples names on purpose or is it a thing that does it automatically?

They do it on purpose.

EvilHamsterOnCrack, I like your name. It reminds me of a nickname Spoz gave me once… and which I’ve grown to like.

The nickname in question? Hamsterette. HE also gave me the alternate location of “Planet Hamster.”

On behalf of hamsterettes,

F_X

It’s customary to bold other dopers’ names when referring to them in your post. To start the bolding, key in {b} (but with square ][ brackets instead of {} these), and to end the bolding, key {/b} (again with square brackets). This also works for italics {i}, underline {u}, etc. You can test it out in About This Message Board.

Hope that clears things up for you. Welcome to the Boards!

That wasn’t very helpful of me, was it? Thanks to Orange Skinner for saving me…

I finally jumped in, too, E.H.O.C, after landing here by falling in. I followed a link that followed a link…welcome.E.H.O.C.

Don’t mention it, dantheman, no trouble at all.

E.H.O.C… eh? Sounds like E-Hawk…
