Where to begin…
I met Tom about 3-1/2 months ago in a bar. I was dating someone else at the time, but I went to this bar occasionally to shoot pool and play Trivia. I asked him to play pool with me. I saw him a few times after that and we began to talk more and more, finding lots of things in common.
One day I was pissed at my “boyfriend” - he never wanted to go do anything, and I was feeling rather used (sexually) - I was on my way to a Dopefest, and I called Tom. He had given me his number a while back, in a friendly way. He was never pushy about dating me, and seemed to understand that I was seeing someone and that I just wanted to be friends.
So I took Tom to the HouDopefest, even though he doesn’t even own a computer, much less know what the Straight Dope is. We had a great time! Drinking beer and eating seafood, talking with the other Dopers. After that, we went and shot some pool at our little bar. Then he wanted to take me out to this little blues club. So we each went home and changed for the evening. He picked me up, and more fun was had! We drank and danced the night away.
I think we’ve only spent 2 days apart since. He is the most wonderful man I’ve ever met! Kind, considerate, a man of his word. He took me to his hometown of Daytona Beach, Florida over the July 4th weekend. I’ve met all his family.
He brings me flowers, he cooks me dinner, he takes me out. He told me he loved me under the moon and stars on the beach. It’s a whirlwind romance, and I have fallen hard.
He likes to do yardwork, and is landscaping my backyard. He even went and bought a chainsaw to cut down the half-dead tree! He lives in an apartment, a mere seven minutes from my house, and is actually enjoying what I consider hard labor. My yard looks great!
And the chemistry between us is unbelievable. I melt when he kisses me. I am so blown away by my good fortune, to meet someone who is, I truly believe, my soulmate.
