I'm making everyone fried chicken for dinner. Extra crispy. What two pieces you want?

Can I just have the delicious, delicious crispy skin please?

For years I’ve wanted to open a roadside eatery called “Bucket o’ Skin.” As the name implies, it serves nothing but fried chicken skin. And Tater Tots. The diet plate comes with Diet Pepsi, otherwise you get Pepsi or sweet tea. It’s carry out only, although there is a picnic table or two on the grass next to the parking lot, which consists of 3 spaces.

For dinner, I will have a wing and a drumstick, or two wings. Thank you very much.

The thigh might have more meat than the drumstick, but the drumstick is more fun to eat. I’ve still got enough inner child in me for that to matter.

Yeah, that’s partly why I picked one leg, one thigh. Plus the leg is kind of like an oversized chicken wing in the sense that you get crispy chicken skin in every bite (or almost every bite.) With thigh, the skin on the topside tends to slide off in one piece, so it’s difficult to get skin and meat in every bite.

I like white meat so two breasts for me. Anyone is welcome to the skins.

Gotta have a drumstick. I’ll take anything else for the second piece, I picked breast because it’s likely to have a lot of meat, but anything else would do. A drumstick and a wing would be kind of skimpy though. I cut the wings to get a big chunk of white meat on them, but even with that the rest of the wing can be pretty small.

If I could up the amount I would go for only wings but if only two then it has to be a breast and a wing.

I’d like a leg and a breast, pretty please.

Heck, I like fried chicken so much, I’ll help you cook and clean up.

For roasted chicken, I’m all about the dark meat. But, with fried chicken, I like some of both. So a thigh and a breast for me.

Exactly!

Thanks, Idle Thoughts! I loves me some fried chicken. Creamy (not vinegary) coleslaw and a soft, hot biscuit too, please, if they’re available.

Two legs. If it weren’t extra crispy I’d take two breasts but when extra crispy, moreso than when not, the first bite of the breast takes the entire skin off.

My choice wasn’t on there. I’ll settle for two boneless breast strips. I never liked “bone-in chicken” very much (and yes, that includes chicken wings).

Anything but wings, wings are dumb.

When I go to St Huberts, they have those two choices. I’ll get the creamy, and add a squeeze pouch of vinegar. It’s perfect that way. (imo)

I’ll take two breasts, but I’ll make two meals out of it.

I’ll rassle both a’yas for it!

A breast because they have the most meat but also that one hunk of crusty skin and a thigh because they are like 80% skin.

It’s all good. I answered breast and wing, but thigh and wing or breast and thigh are very close contenders. Maybe I’ll be selfish and take three pieces!

With fried chicken, there’s enough grease added that the breast doesn’t seem too lean and sometimes the thigh seems too fatty. With a leaner cooking style like BBQ or baked chicken, the thighs come out with a better fat:meat ratio, so I have a stronger preference for them in those cooking styles.

Heh! I gotcha both covered maybe…

Satellite, how do you feel about cukes and onion salad? Its vinegary and the coleslaw is creamy with juuuuuuuust the tiniest hint (I can’t taste it myself) of vinegar.
