I’m writing a paper and my dissertation up. I listen to music while I read and write and I have a short attention span. Couple this with some extra online dollars to spend. So I’ve been on a binge. Here’s what I’ve bought in the past 2 weeks:
Grandaddy “Sophtware Slump”
Pinback “Summer in Abaddon”
Deerhoof “Milk Man”
Electralane “The Power Out”
Dizzee Rascal “Showtime”
The Black Keys “Rubber Factory”
Albert King “Lovejoy”
Xiu Xiu “Fabulous Muscles”
Handsome Boy Modeling School “White People”
The Unicorns “Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’re Gone”
The Hives “Tyrannosaurus Hives”
The Futureheads “The Futureheads”
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds “Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus” and “Henry’s Dream”
Placebo “Without You I’m Nothing”
Interpol “Antics”
It’s all over the map; it’s new and old; but it keeps my attention while trying to write some paragraphs on microarray epistasis and position weight matricies.
Oh, and I’d suggest to all of you to go to http://www.chromeo.net, find their Audio/Video section and download (for free!) the mp3 of “Needy Girl.” It is the best 80s throwback cheeze I have ever heard. I’ve been playing it like a maniac during my breaks.
