My cat layed on the keyboard and changed my font and font size and I can’t figure out how to change it back! It’s too small and hurts my eyes. It seems it only affected the Straight Dope window. I tried to change the setting back in the Firefox tools option and it changed the font in one window but not the Straight Dope window. Arrgh!
This is not the first time he’s done stuff to the computer just by laying on the keyboard. How does he randomly mash keys and change settings when I can’t even figure out how to do what he did?
I’d try to get him to lay on the keyboard again and change it back but he’d probably end up selling my house on eBay for a dollar.
ctrl and the + sign on the keypad or ctrl and the - sign on the keypad may be your culprit. Changing the fonts through the tools menu is a little complicated for a cat, but the keyboard shortcuts for text zoom and text shrink could do what you’re seeing.
It’s a laptop PC and yes that appears to be what he did. Still not sure how he did it though because he was on the lower part of the keyboard, near the ctrl but not near the - key. How does he manage to find these odd key combinations and keep changing things? I don’t even know how to do this stuff (obviously, since I couldn’t undo it).
LOL! Don’t know the answer but I can sooooo relate. The Celtling went through a stage where every time she touched the keyboard, she would randomly bang a sequence to turn the display 90 degrees. It drove me completely apeshit!
One of my cats found the keyboard shortcut to turn off my laptop’s wireless. That took me a while to figure out how to reverse. And why there even is a keyboard shortcut to turn off the wireless is beyond me.
