I had basically forgotten about the April Fool’s thing, and I certainly didn’t remember that it was Idle Thoughts in particular who pulled that prank (what can I say, I don’t always pay that much attention to what is going on around here). However, I just realized that whenever I read a post by Idle Thoughts, I imagine a female voice in my mind. I guess I was just under the assumption that s/he was a girl.
Not sure why. Maybe my brain picked up on the initial “fact”, but never internalized the subsequent correction. That seems strange, though. Actually, now I feel all confused. Idle Thoughts, are you absolutely sure that you’re not, in fact, of a female persuasion?
I mean, being a girl is OK. There’s nothing wrong with it, and I certainly wouldn’t think any less of a person for being one. Quite the contrary.
…this really shouldn’t surprise you. It was a dumb silly prank for starters. And some people don’t login here for years on end. As was pointed out to you: just because it was posted on April 1st that doesn’t mean that people would read it on April 1st.
Considering I only sent the PM prank to people who were online at the time at that moment, it does surprise me, a little, that they happened to log off on that day without reading it and didn’t log in for another year since that very day.
But you’re right, I fully expected some might not see it for months, at least.
