Shampoo? We don’t need no stinking shampoo!
Nah seriously it is really liberating to just run a wash cloth over your head like any other part of your body, not have to worry about drying your hair either. Its just very easy.
I can’t even imagine dealing with the pain in the ass of butt length hair or dredds.
There are some advantages for bald guys like me. No bad hair days. If I get sweaty, I just wipe it off. And if it is windy, the breeze feels good on a bare head on a hot day. And like you said, no shampoo issues. I just start washing my face and keep going until i’m at the back of my neck.
Yeah. When I went bald rather rapidly at the age of 25, I was bummed at first…I mean, who wants to go bald in their 20s? But now, I realize I haven’t combed my hair in 10 years and after toweling off after a shower, my head is completely dry. It’s wonderful! I started buzzing my head (not shaved, but very closely buzzed, maybe 1/16-1/8" long) as soon as the top started looking like I was trying to hide it, and now when I get a little shaggy (I try and clean it up when it gets to around 1/4" long if I remember), I just buzz it myself with a set of clippers at home. My wife trims up the rest. It’s great! I haven’t paid for a haircut in 10 years either. 
I went from very long hair to a shaved head a couple years ago. I love it, although I have to shave every 12 - 24 hours, or else it feels weird.
I go about a week between shavings. And while I only use a drop of shampoo, it’s surprising how often I find myself buying it.
I wash my face with shampoo. So I’d probably still use it on a bald head if I had one.
