I'm scared.

good on the improvement. keep it up.

So do they know what’s wrong?

I’m not a vocal Skald follower, but a minion who lurks. Be kind to yourself, and I hope they figure out what’s going on and spring you from the joint to recover at your lair.

Glad for the small improvement – continued best wishes, Skald!

Good luck buddy, hang in there, you’re one of the good ones.

So very glad to hear that lucid voice again! I promise you, your wife won’t leave and you will see your babies very soon. Setting up a Skype session with them is a great idea.

Also, I need you to take care of another heartbreaker for me. You did great with the last one, the beating with the rubber hose and then the fireants – great work!

Hope you are up and around soon. I’m sending good thoughts your way.

Popped in because I was thinking of you, **Skald. ** Crossing my fingers that you continue to improve and will be out in the world with your family once again soon. As mentioned above, one day at a time, and sometimes, one minute at a time. Hugs.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, Skald. I hope you’re on the meld. Your children are resilient, they’ll be there for you when you get out.

Skald, best of luck, care, and good intestine bacteria to you.

This morning I am feeling pretty strong. Last several times they checked, my blood pressure was quite good – not just out of stroke territory, but within healthy ranges. I hope I’ll be released if that holds thru today. Apparently the root of all this was some really nasty infection. I will have to ask again; it’s conceivable it was explained to me when I was particularly loopy and just didn’t make it into my long-term memory. It’s not clear to me how the infection could lead to the BP problems without also causing blood sugar issues, but it does seem that the antibiotics and whatever other meds I’ve been given have been effective.

I take back every dismissive, mocking thought I’ve ever had about celebrities in the hospital for dehydration and exhaustion. That part was bad.

I need a shave badly.

My stepdaughter set up the Skype so I could see the babies. There is nothing more beautiful than the inane babblings of a three-year-old.

I just now noticed – literally just now, while typing the previous paragraph – that my legs are neither shaking nor aching. They had been for days but seem to have gotten better during the night.

I have been scanning the MAD MEN and WALKING DEAD threads. Several of you have expressed inane opinions about both, and when I am at a real keyboard I shall say a number of cruel things about the worst offenders, or perhaps merely threaten violence.

And now I am weary, but in a good way. Be well!

I think thr REAL Skald has made it back from whatever alternate universe he was abducted to. Now he just needs the Continua Buggy to go to a resort world.

Yay! Skaldie-poo is back!!!

Glad to hear it! Get well and get out of there soon!

Nothing reminds us that *health *is so wonderful than when we lack it, even temporarily.

Congrats on your return!

Congratulations Skald. Give the kids a big hug from us.

Crikey, Skald!
Sorry to be super late to this, but let me add more well-wishes from another admirer.
Of course you were scared. Who wouldn’t be. And I admire you all the more for sharing that with us.

You’re a good bloke, and I’m damn happy to hear you’re on the mend.

(Got a real shock when I read the first page this morning waiting for my son’s high school entrance ceremony to start.
Just now caught up with your latest post. What a relief.)

My late FIL used to get loopier than batshit whenever he had an infection and then was on antibiotics. Glad to see you more back to what passes as normal for any of us on the Dope.

And never threaten violence; that isn’t very nice at all. Promise it instead.

Get well soon - the flying monkeys miss you.

Regards,
Shodan

And somebody’s got to clean out the cages.

Many thanks, O most dyspeptic and ornery Skald. This paragraph alone assures me that you’ll make a full recovery.
