Anyone here with me?
I’d like to, but I’m stuck having to do field checks after lunch which will take up the whole afternoon. And my boss will be with me.
looks around
Skipping out of work early? Why no, I will be here until the properly designated time coordinates, as always.
makes plans for 4:30
Nope, this is just my second week here. I have to actually work and impress the boss. Give me a few more months and then I’ll be sneaking out early, or hell, if this is anything like my last job saying I would be with a vendor all day and not coming in at all.
I’m leaving work early today, too. Because I had to come in early.
And because I have to work through the weekend. Again. For the third weekend in a row.
Tho’ I might skip a few days altogether next week, so there’s that.
I wish. I’m so freakin’ tired, I’m falling asleep at my desk. Thanks, husband, for keeping me up all night with your damn snoring, then calling me pretty awful names when I told you to get the hell out and sleep on the couch - I slept there most of last week - it’s your freakin’ turn.
2:00. I have to finish up a final version of my research paper for school - I’ll hopefully have it done by 2:00 cause it has to go FedEx. Today.
Edited because I realized that the above doesn’t make much sense unless I explain that yes, my boss is totally cool with me doing schoolwork here.
I’m totally there. As in not here after say, 3:30 or so. Earlier if I can make it! Viva Fridays! Viva beer!!!
I’m hoping to be out of here by 3:30 or 4. I come in half an hour early every day so I can leave early on Wednesdays and Fridays (usually 3:30 on Wednesdays and 4 on Fridays). This week I also had a two-hour meeting Monday night so I could technically leave at 2 if I wanted.
Yep, I’m outie 4-ish I hope. Gotta hit the road. I’m going camping this weekend with my sis and bro and nieces and nephew. I’m assured it will be tons of fun.
Not so much. Sleep on the ground and no shower in the morning? Yippee. There better be a big goddam cooler of beer, is all I’m saying.
Absolutely - I’m outta here at 3 p.m. if possible. Tonight my son will be doing a sleepover at his daycare and I’d like to spend a few hours with him before I take him back for his dinner. Did I mention I love my son’s daycare? They have a sleepover for all the kids every few months. They’ll stuff them full of pizza and ice cream, play games and watch movies, then crash for the night. The crazy thing is that it’s about $20 cheaper than paying a babysitter for just a fraction of that time. I’ve only done it once, but our son really seemed to enjoy himself.
Screw my plan, I’m leaving work early to go stay over at overlyverbose’s son’s daycare.
I have officially skipped.
Time to get this weekend rolling!
I’m not planning on physically leaving, but after a certain point I’m going to quit working on anything and start dicking off. Actually, now is good.
When I got my Federal job in '76 there was a hiring freeze and they weren’t supposed to be hiring full time employees, so all the new hires worked a 39-hour work week and got to leave an hour early on Fridays. After we finished our three-month training program we were made full-time employees and had to start putting in a full 8-hour day on Friday. It was amazing how hard an adjustment that was.
I have 18 minutes to go and I so resent you early skipper-outers.
Woo Hoo Long Weekend!
Fireworks and bbq, it’s all good!
It’s officially the May 24 weekend (Yeah, I know it’s early but that’s what it’s known as regardless!)
And, where I come from that means drinking a 24 of beer! And Monday’s a holiday!
It being the long weekend, I skipped out at 2:30. On my way home my phone rang with a work-related call, and I answered “We’re sorry. The number you have dialed is out of service for the long weekend. Please hang up and try your call again on Tuesday.”
Quittin’ time…
Officially: 92 minutes to go.
Reality: 92 minutes ago.
Me.
I finished my work at 1:30 today. And that’s with taking a whole hour for lunch to mow my lawn. The boss said she owed me time, and to take the rest of the day off. I went down to the local Mexican restaurant. About what you’d expect for someplace right up at the Canadian border. C’est la guerre.
I still have to do laundry and dishes, and do some packing today.
I wish. We’re getting ready for trial. I’ll be here until about 8:30 tonight, and then all weekend. Don’t forget to write!
(seriously, it helps with the sanity)
