What do all the cool kids do on these boring Jan. nights?
I drink beer. Tho I’m not claiming to be cool. Or a kid.
Nice!
I’m too bored to even think of an interesting way of describing how bored I am.
You just increased my boredom.
I do this all the time, and I consider it research. (If you need anything rationalized, just come to me.)
Interestingly, I discovered that five (and that’s about half) of the men I seriously dated or was involved with went on to long (35-45 year) marriages to the same woman after they broke up with me. At least you can’t say I picked guys who were commitment-phobes. But I really don’t know how to interpret in a way that says anything good about me.
…doing actual work at work. Guess I have to do it eventually.
I’m so bored, I’ve been calling in sick to places I don’t work.
Bored enough that I’m actually considering going to TV Tropes and picking random subjects. But I know full well it’d be well after midnight when I finally come up for air.
I thought TV Tropes had been shut down. But I see it’s still in business. All right! Digs, you performed a valuable service today for a fellow Doper and made her very happy. Thanks! I suggest you take the rest of the day off.
Thanks! I forwarded your post to my boss. She of course said “TV Tropes? Thelma Loooo? Heck yeah, in fact, I’ll just see you Monday.”
Remind me to send both of you a pan of cashew fudge.
I’m so bored, I’m running a race between a Windows spinning circle and a Mac spinning pizza of doom.
I’m so bored I want Max to tell us who won?
…and I want to know what happened to the corpse of the vanquished.

I have a problem with lonliness, because I’m working at home a lot and my husband works late. But the more I think about it, I think I have a problem with boredom, because it doesn’t make sense that I would feel lonely the second I get home from the office. I’m an introvert, too.
I made a list of things to do when I’m bored besides waste time on the internet. One of those things is to do a puzzle. I realize this may sound lame but I’m just one of those homebody type people. So I bought one of those roll-up puzzle keeper things (I have cats) and I’ve started a puzzle. It’s a giant frog made up of many little frogs. I do it while listening to podcasts. It was a solid choice.
Neil Gaiman has written that boredom is a requirement for the creative process. As a creative person, I do find my brain solves things best when it’s idle. I’m working through a massive creative problem right now, so I think I need to embrace the boredom more.
As a kid: “Mom, I bored”
Me: Ends up cleaning the garage.
No, I’m never bored anymore.
Me to The Wifey: “I’m bored”
Wifey: “So do the dishes”
Me: “No, I want to be *less *bored”
Been sick since the 1st. Did watch some Jersey Shore reruns. Knew things were going downhill.
Did some detective work on finding family property without much information to entertain myself. Pleased that I figured it out.
Watching a lot of Criminal Minds and Law and Order marathons. Just not feeling well enough to do anything else. My brain is smush.
My ‘oh so bored and aloof’ Siamese cats are looking at me like I am supposed to entertain them. They don’t play, they don’t cuddle, they eat treats and stare at me. I don’t know what they expect from me 'cause they don’t answer my questions real well. I can go put something in the dryer, they like that, they have beds on top. Maybe they will let me live another night.¿!!
