Yes, reprise, I was agreeing with you, and adding that since we’ve dealt with the problem poster, there’s no more need for that thread. Don’t worry about it, it WAS a good thing…for you, anyway.
So I know that you like Godiva chocolates Lynn. I also very aware that you are on a severely resticted chocolate diet due to your diabetes. So what can us Aussies send you? Violet Crumbles, Aero Bars, Tim Tams?
We don’t want to compromise your health, but we really would like to send you a “treat”. We’ll even make sure that the treat we send you isn’t of the size which would throw you into a coma!
Name your Christmas poison Lynn and Tuba - you’ve sure as shit earned it by putting us with us folk all year.
<anal hijack> Rep - not to sound like a health freak here, but Tim-Tams and Violet Crumble always bugged me when living in Australia.
Tim-Tams contain E102 or tartrazine (yellow colouring) which isn’t great for its side-effects. If you compare the ingredients of different chocolate biscuit products in Australia, you find that some contain E102, and some don’t. Those that do are usually cheaper varieties, which makes me question whether their cocoa content is so low they need to resort to artificial additives to make them look “richer” or something.
Violet Crumble - IIRC - contains gelatine. By contrast, it’s cousin-chocloate bar, Crunchie, does not. I am not personally a vegetarian, but I always thought it disappointing they couldn’t come up with a recipe that didn’t use gelatine.
On the plus side, there was a chocolate brand called Kaoka (organic and you can get it from health food shops - sadly for a v high price) which I’ve only ever seen Down Under which is FAB. Rich, and smooth - not the grainy taste of some organics - and in fact as nice as if not nicer than premium brands such as Lindt. And they do dark and milk, and this wonderful orange-flavoured (naturally!) bittersweet one.
</anal hijack over>
Don’t worry about what kind of chocolate to send to Lynn. Just send all of it to me and I’ll filter out all the bad stuff and forward the little(if any) that is left to her.
