I'm the luckiest man in the world.

Outstanding, Coldy~! May you and Heloise have a long and wonderful life together. May you always remain best friends and honeymooners.

And yes, photos are a must.

Congratulations, Coldfire.

The board is a wonderful place and I’m glad that you found someone here (as I did).

I hope you are both very happy together (and don’t spend too much cash in Las Vegas).

A Canadian Doper congradulating an American Doper and a Dutch Doper on getting married…kinda like the whole Board in miniature, eh?

I wish you both many happy years together. I hope you’re both still just as happy and in love when your, um, ( insert quick math calculation), Twelve-and-a-half-Year Anniversery rolls around!
(That’s Fifty, right?! )

Love to both of you, zoogirl.

Congratulations!

Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful thoughts and wishes for us. I’m so happy, my heart always feels ready to burst. Coldfire says he’s the luckiest man, which goes to show that he doesn’t realize how much he means to me. I’m the one who is amazed that she found someone like him, and I hope I can show him how happy he makes me for the rest of our lives.

Let’s play the “No, I love you more!” game and gross everybody out, shall we?

RickQ: lose money in Vegas? I intend on hitting the jackpot in more ways than one, if at all possible.

JavaMaven1: bring it on!

Another one coming outta “long time no see” status to say: congratulations to you both! I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Just wanted to add another voice to the chorus wishing you both many happy days together. Congratulations to both of you!!!

Congratulations to both of you!! I can tell you, from first hand experience, that as long as you marry the right person, marriage rocks! Ours is still rocking after 20 years together and 15 years married!

YIPPEE!!!
Wow! That’s amazing… Vegas not the wedding

Many, many, many, many, many, ad infinitum happy days to follow you!

Coldfire! It’s genius, absolutely genius! The perfect scheme…ANNIVERSARY PRESENTS ONLY ONCE EVERY 4 YEARS! You cheap bastard, great idea!

Paradoxical, you may not believe this, but below I shall quote my wife-to-be’s exact words after we decided on Leap Day:

So, while it is true that the Dutch are well known for their cheapness, I hadn’t even thought of the economical advantages when my future spouse pointed out the even more obvious bonus.

[sub]I’m pretty sure she wasn’t joking. I mean, what woman wants a present every anniversary, every year? As if![/sub]

Those internet relationships NEVER work out, trust me on this one.

And how and why that gorgeous woman would assent to hitching up with a Yurpeen like yourself, I will never know. Best of luck, you’ll need it.

(I keed, I keed!)

Congratulations!
That’s delightful news.

Much congratulations, Coldfire & Heloise!! Mazel tov!

Congratulations, both of you!

Van mij ook de beste wensen en van harte gefeliciteerd. All you need to do to make your life perfect now is to build a time machine, go back to July 7, 1974 and somehow make Mr. Taylor swallow his whistle before the twenty-fifth minute. Either that or temporarily disable Gerd Mueller.

Damn, you sure know how to hurt a guy, Mycroft. In your defense, your Dutch is too good to be true, especially for a native German. Say, can you pronounce Scheveningen?

[sub]For those not in the know: the Germans tried to infiltrate the Dutch resistance in WWII. One (almost) sure fire way was to ask a German to pronounce “Scheveningen”, a coastal town near The Hague. The “sch” sound is very typical in Dutch, and extremely hard to emulate for a German. And no, I’m not calling Mycroft a Nazi. He’s lived in Holland long enough to appreciate this kind of humour, I do believe. Besides, he brought up the real reason our countries still have trouble seeing eye to eye: the 1974 World Cup, which should have been won by the Dutch. Hell, even Beckenbauer admitted that it should have![/sub]

Thanks for all the good wishes, guys!

YAY!!! I love the Straight Dope!

Oh, no no no. The cool thing about being married on February 29th is you get to celebrate your anniversary on both February 28th and March 1st on the off years.

withaK and I are so happy for you!

Congratulations! May you both be very happy.
