I'm Trying to Remind Myself That Forcing People to Do Things at Gunpoint is BAD

And it’s not working.

According to this story, a couple confronted a burglar in their home, and while they waited for the cops to show up, they made him clean up the mess he’d made trying to find and gather their valuables.

The cop was particularly unsympathetic to the ahem victim’s claim about being held at gunpoint and forced to work.

As an aside, has anyone ever heard or seen the bowdlerization “raise sand” before?

So, they got the house tidied up, but their stuff is still gone?

“raise sand” is an old Southern colloquialism meaning to have a fit, usually a full-on hissy fit.

I can’t believe they put the suspects name and home address.
Their stuff is gone, the thief made several trips. Emptied the house practically. Furniture, cothes, the kids toys, kind of like the Grinch except he got caught when he came back for more. I really loved how he was wearing the home owners hat when he walked in and bumped into the home owner.

I hadn’t known that, thanks. I was reading it as an awkward replacement for “raise shit.”

More importantly, the couple has kids named Javontae and Jamarion. Javontae and Jamarion.

Javontae.

Jamarion.

fetus, so what you’re saying is that if the couple had really wanted to punish the burglar they would have renamed him?

I bet you that burglar would be begging for mercy after five letters.

Jahell yeah he would.

Good chance they’ll get their stuff back. I mean, they caught the guy. While he was still stealing. Same day and all.
