I'm Up So Here's The New MMP

Happy Moonday!

The sun is shining and it’s 81 degrees outside, I should be out there instead of in here. However, I have things to do, and the mosquitoes are horrible out back. I could go to the park, but afternoons aren’t always so nice there. For some reason, kids are starting to think it’s a good place to ride bikes and scooters. One day a man dropped off his young (7-8) daughter with a dog and left. Too many come and play on their phones instead of watching their dogs, and even worse, they play on their phones while their kids run wild through the park.
There is a playground across the street, and there are paved trails all through the park, and we are not babysitters. Although I did watch a dog one day for a guy so he could play basketball across the street.

I have too much to do here anyway.
I called irk about customer, seems I’m not the first to have complained about her. I feel better now.
I hate being a snitch, but I hate being put in that position even more.

Glad you wife is doing okay Cookie.

{{{Butters and Hubby}}}

Life has so many little mysteries.
One of which is - why would you make a walk in tub that has no seat? Well, it does have a seat, one that is an inch and a half high.

Today is bill pay day, and I need to order groceries to pick up tomorrow.

It started out like a Monday. I went to a large corporation’s website to upload some data. They changed their interface over the weekend, and the new page would not load in Microsoft Edge. (I did get in using Chrome.) I contacted Technical Support, and the rep had me send a screenshot of the blank page. Anyway, they’re now aware of a compatibility issue.

Then I started going through the delinquent data report the send me, and I saw one company that I have consistently sent data for. There was a format change back in May – the last month Very Large Corporation says they received data. I sent them an email showing the verifications from their website showing that they had received the data, and attached the email I sent in May informing them of the format change, giving them the new layout, and showing a response from my contact there.

On the upside of the day, I had a Vegemite & Cheddar sandwich for breakfast.

… aaaand the winner is: NAPTIME! Who’s surprised?

Now I can start the day properly! At 2:30 p.m. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Good afternoon!

It’s a drizzly (Thankfully. We needed it, even though it was very little), cool-ish day. The high is only supposed to get up to 64*. Works for me, though. I can’t complain. The sun is starting to peek out, finally. About time. Still, we needed what little drizzle/sprinkle we got.

The door guy messaged me this morning, and wants to wait, and come by tomorrow. That’s fine with me, too. I still haven’t made a run to the bank, but, I’ll do that in the morning. I was too lazy to go this morning, which will probably bite me in the arse. Mark my words.

I’ve been somewhat productive. I’ve made a batch of Hamburger, Vegetable, and Barley Soup. It ended up more like stew, though. That’s fine. I can make damned good soups/stews. Then, just while ago, I mixed up some Zucchini Bread. Two loaves for a neighbor (With pecans and almonds), and one nutless (If it’s not a word, it is now!) loaf for my husband. They’re in the oven, and won’t be done for another half hour, probably.

Now, I’ve got dishes to do, and a load of laundry to get started on. I should wash the bathroom rugs, but, I’m not really feelin’ it, today.

Have a good remainder to the day, everyone!

@nelliebly

This was dilation and examination. The visual field is six months from now. My regular doctor has been out of the office since February and I had a new doctor today. it went well

Glad it went well. Also glad you only have to go every 6 months. (I have to go every 3.)

He does like woodies (my favorite too). Get your minds out of the gutter, people – I’m talking about wooden roller coasters here! :roller_coaster:

Just found you all. Best of mornings and afternoons! {{{ to go around }}}. I’m going back to the top to start reading and then I’ll be back.

BBBoo

Welcome!!! Recognized you from elsewhere on the ‘Dope, glad you’re here. And going easy on each other is by definition why we’re all here, speaking for myself.

Boo~better be careful-with your user name you are likely to get nicknamed hotrod here

Needed more water & a few sundry necessities from The Gettin’ Store. Saw I missed a call from my mom and called her back - enormous amounts of irritation ensued.

I finally told her if she’s this upset that I didn’t mention getting a cat, that she should talk to a therapist. “Fine, I will ask therapist if I have rights to truth and not lies.” Oh, my good lord, there aren’t enough eyerolls or Cadillac margaritas in this world.

Wonder if she’ll take me up on the suggestion, and if so, what twisted version of reality she’ll tell, and whether the therapist will think to ask my age and stuff.
The way she treats me would be within tolerable limits for a nineteen year old. Forty is in my rearview and I just have no tolerance for bullshit anymore. Especially not her bullshit.

FWIW, Paso del Norte’s Grande Cadillac Margarita is 20 ounces and contains 1.5 ounces of José Cuervo tequila, and 1.5 ounces of Grand Marnier. The rest is their house-made margarita mix and ice. So legally, it contains only two ‘drinks’; but it’s so much fun to call them 20-ouncers! :stuck_out_tongue:

If I remember, I need to try their Ultimate Margarita, which is hand squeezed lime juice, Hornito Tequila, Cointreau and Triple Sec. (No idea of the size.)

Howdy Y’all! We spiffed da cave, watched some Netflix, achieved nappage and have supped. Ah the life of the retired!

{{{Butters}}} hope this helps the hubs. Don’t worry about us, just check in when you can. Sneakers and comfy clothes sound like a great idea. Just don’t wear your nightie around the horsepistol or they will think you are a patient.

Wheelie though, I do kinda like Hotrod, welcome to the MMP. You can never go wrong with what you post up in here. We are for all things trivial, mundane, and even TMI.

Miss_Owl sounds like you might have found yourself a suitable gentleman caller.

Hippie glad the appointment went well.

Cookie glad things checked out OK for the Mrs.

Thel a blessed Yom Kippur! Glad you had a good time with your neighbors. We’ve been doin’ some get togethers with a couple of friends (JDD and Partner) and are just so happy to socialize some. The four of us together causes much silliness to ensue and I have missed that.

Spicy hope y’all are feelin’ better.

Nellie hope you were able to get your rowin’ machine.

shoe tell your mom you also told the cat you are adopted so the cat wouldn’t worry you had inherited all the crazy.

Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around as needed.

Well, it’s been a day for sure. The kitchen floor will be done on Thurs, and they may start taking up old carpet and putting down the padding as time permits. SIL will be here to wrangle Roxy and Higgs while we’re tending to our wills.

I ran my errands and had a super-easy babysitting experience - Roxy woke just as Daughter walked thru the door! No diaper changes - huzzah!! Got home by 3:30 and started the meatloaf. Sides were N.O.T.s-n-onions and big salads. Then after I emptied and refilled the dishwasher, I cleaned 2 quarts of strawberries for the fridge. I think that’s enough productivity for one day.

{{{Butters and Mr.B}}} - healing, comforting thoughts coming your way!

MissOwl - we’re watching you, missy, so you behave yourself!!

Welcome, wheelie! Pull up a comfy seat and make sure you use a coaster. And don’t offer your CDs to flytrap!

My brain is now fried. I’m going to assume the recline position and chill till bedtime.

Well, there’s good behavior and there’s bad behavior and you didn’t specify which one was for me … [flings coasters in the air and sets drink down on the naked table]. :innocent:

I like your style, my friend.

Threw myself into all the household chores I’d been putting off, just to distract myself. (So many clean dishes!) Feeling much better.
Might even make a fresh batch of chicken soup tonight.

Moved another rat group into a newly cleaned enclosure. Lots of healthy females & a handful of fat, squeaky pups. I love the “week! week!” sounds they make when the milk bar opens, or shifts movement, or breathes.
Emptied the dirty enclosure and left it outside just as it started to rain. :sunglasses: Thanks for the rinse, Mama Nature!

Cleaned the rat room up, and finished the mesh for a whole new enclosure. Just needs a couple more water bottle holes & the hanging loops for those, aaaand tah-dah a brand new home. A big 'un, too, which I need, since one of my “brownie” groups had a half million babies and is getting crowded.

As long as it is only the table that is naked…[Boo ducks].

I guess the whole point of a nickname is that you don’t get to pick your own, so I am at your mercy.

I will, however, give a little background as to why I called myself “Wheelz” in the first place.

You see, I used to be big into NASCAR racing. I’m not anymore (more on that later). I got my NASCAR fandom from my late father, but I did not inherit his mechanical aptitude. He was a customizing wizard, and converted many old hunks of junk into some of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. It was his passion.

So back in the early aughts, I started a NASCAR fantasy league with some friends. My first team name was “Diamond Wheels,” combining my love of both Baseball and racing. Someone else called his team “Lug Nutz,” and as a joke, everyone else changed any plural s to a z, and thus I became “Diamond Wheelz.” This became the convention for years to come. Each season I had a different name, but always with “Wheelz” in it. “Wheelz On Fire,” “Loose Wheelz,” etc.

Meanwhile, whenever I needed a username anywhere on the inter tubes, I just defaulted to “Wheelz.” It was succinct and easy to remember.

Thing is, I’m not such a NASCAR fan anymore. All the changes they’ve made in the name of safety (a good thing) has turned the sport into a giant snoozefest (a bad thing), and I can barely watch ten minutes now. The fantasy league is a distant memory. And I never really was much of a car guy.

So the name “Wheelz” doesn’t really fit me at all. Years ago, somebody on the Dope assumed I was wheelchair-bound. I hated to think I’d appropriated that imagery, and I hope most people don’t jump to that conclusion.

I’ve considered requesting a name change, but after nearly two decades I suppose “Wheelz” is just who I am here. I also don’t mind keeping it as a tribute to Dad.

After reading that, I’D be sad if you changed your name. It’s very cool to honor your dad that way. :sunglasses: :racing_car:

Awww, wheelie it is. It will be a pleasure to think of every time I type it.

wheelie, yeah, you get zero choice on names, but thanks for the info. I was going to go with swampy’s suggestion of ‘hotrod’, but given your not a big racing fan anymore, I think the more generic wheelie fits you best (other MMP’ers are free to disagree with me, even thought you are wrong…)

shoe, you seem to treat your rats almost as pets, even though their fate is apparently to be fed to various reptiles…I guess like farmers and cattle…and Mom’s gonna mom–albeit in your 40’s you should be allowed at least a few independent decisions…(I grew a beard in my early 40’s, my mom never did adjust to that).

nona, nutless is a perfectly appropriate word in this case…probably been around since the Assyrians had eunuchs 4,000 years ago…

flyboy, it’s hard to say “you’re an idiot” to a corporation while still being nice about it, but I’m sure you pulled it off.

Sari, sounds like some non-responsible people are messing it up for the rest…

nellie, let us know if you made it home with the rower or not.

talky, glad your talking again. And the wiki article on scoliosis says the earlier it is caught the better the result, so glad it was found now.

The rain waited until 3pm to show up just to annoy me, but once it began pouring the soccer practice was cancelled. Not much else worth reporting, Mickey D’s took care of the evening meal, so I am fed and comfortable, doing some internettin’ and awaiting the evening’s tackleball game.

All y’all take care now.
