… and we’re all still quarantined together, and socially distant, and all that happy jazz.
Am I the first one up? If so, imma go back to bed.

Nope, I’ve been up for hours, you posted at 11.30 am my time, I just tend not to start MMPs or I’d always be doin’ it.
Today’s major excitement is getting some new tyres on the car. I basically shouldn’ta been driving on the front ones for quite a while, but I’m really bad at paying attention to stuff like that. Oops. I’m getting them before the proper garage trip tomorrow, 'cos I don’t want to show up with so many problems it’s silly. I already know I need new brake pads, wheels re-aligning, something with the exhaust and the handbrake still needs sorting.
Other’n that, I’m still working on my final Uni project. It’ll get there, it just needs a bit more brainpower than I have available at any one time…
I was up - just not on line. I woke from an odd dream involving Tom Hanks, his son Colin, and soldering.
Another dreary, overcast day with no suggestion of sun to be seen. I need to run the carpet cleaner, but not when it’ll take eons to dry. So I’ll vacuum and wait for a day when I can open the house.
Not sure what today holds. Apart from figuring out what to make for supper, I’ve got no plans.
Happy Moanday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug abed until seven-fifteen this mornin’. 'Tis 51 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 78 and N.O.S. for the day. We shall spiff da cave today. Sup shall be chili/cheese/onion/slaw dawgs and fries. Fart fest to follow.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Happy Moanday, mumpers! I was up early, since I’m at irk so got plenty going on today. I didn’t start the MMP 'cos I was irking and had meetings and suchlike important stuff. Plus was busy chatting to a friend on messenger about putting on a music festival in a holiday park next year
Still got irk to get on with, still got things to plan for, and I still have half of my management project to write which has to be completed by mid-May. I’m allowed three guided learning days to work on it but I’ve not been able to take any of them, so told my boss this morning that I need at least two of 'em to get my head into it and write the stuff.
Other than that, it’s grey and overcast today, hoping for some wet weather to keep the covidiots out of the park so I can enjoy my walk in peace.
Welcome back shoe! It’s been a while.
Up, caffeinating, fixing to go grocery shopping when Aldi opens and have a Zoom meeting at 11.
Stay healthy y’all!
Some productivity has ensued - I cleaned 2 quarts of strawberries and built a cuke-onion salad. Plus executive decision has been made: supper will be chicken nuggets (my way), noodles, broccoli, and sweet potato chunks cooked in the air fryer.
Still gray and dreary. <sigh>
Good morning all. Well, I didn’t start the MMP because I stayed in bed until 8:45am, which I can do now and then. Need to get properly dressed in about an hour to go pickup lunch (ordered last night) and that’ll be the only planned outdoor activity. Nailed up about 15 pictures around the house last evening, still need to get frames for a bunch of stuff.
Everyone have a good week now.
Blurf. I got nothing. Yesterday was sunny but windy. I grazed the horse, then spent the rest of the day home with the cat. I’m at work with nothing to do so will be leaving after lunch.
Been sleeping in a lot (for me) during all this. Got up around 7:45 this morning, whereas I’m usually up by 6:30 at the latest. The sameness of the days is starting to wear on me, I think. Today is muck-out-the-stable day, so we’ll be busy with that for a couple of hours, but otherwise I’m out of projects.
Tyres sorted. Took a while.
Did get a good close look at the air ambilance while I was waiting, which was apparently doing a fly-by, not actually picking anyone up, for some fundraising effort. I always feel a little guilty for getting excited to see it up close when that means someone local’s having an awful day, so it’s nice to just get to go ‘Ooh’ without the guilt.
Guten Morgan!
Nut’s story about tyres reminded me of a good story.
Last year Wifey went to the small, non-chain, tire store in town and had studded tires (tyres) put on her Hyundai on account of that large pile of rocks between here and central Orygun catches snow from time to time. Well, the nice folks at the tire place offered to store Wifey’s regular tires for her until they she had to have them put back on this spring.
You knew this was coming, didntcha? …when she went back last week to get them switched back, they had lost them. Not exactly a tragedy, since they were pretty well worn anyway. But they were mortified and offered to give her brand new tires for free! She, being who she is, said they couldn’t do that, they had to make some money on the deal. So they settled on giving her 4 brand new tires, mounted and balanced, for $200.
The re-mounting and balancing alone was supposed to be $80.00. And they’re storing her studded tires. Bet they don’t lose them.
Now it’s time to shower and dress. Have a good week everybody.
I was up, caffeinated, and sheveled early , mainly because somebody wanted to go at 0600. I had to switch dog foods, and apparently the new stuff gives 14 year olds Jack Russells 70% more energy than the old stuff.:dubious::smack:
shoe! Welcome back!
{{{{ <socially distant hug> }}}}
Read that as cake onion salad. Something best served with haggis in aspic. Or Soviet Meat Jelly.
I’ve baked myself out of flour. Found a “lean” recipe (no fats or sugar) that ferments/rises for 24 hours in the fridge. Much nicer than some allegedly Amish recipe, that with a bit more sugar, might be indistinguishable from pound cake. Also made banana bread. We ate about two thirds of that last night.
A local restaurant supply claims to have flour and yeast, or at least their website accepted an order to deliver said ingredients this afternoon. Wonder what will actually show up…
Groceries have been purchased. The Pubic Sto’ is now one way traffic in the aisles (sensible, but caught me off guard). Came back home, put up all the crap from the recently finished big project in the studio and will commence to putting away some recently arrived Jungle purches there this afternoon. On the task for today is re-gluing one of the kitchen chairs or ordering a new set online (I would have to do that anyway, even without the stay home thing, as nobody stocks something as small as I need in house).
Talked to the boss and will talk later this afternoon to see where we are irk-wise and if I’ll need to come in tomorrow.
Food Lion has arrows on the floor for one-way traffic. I hate it, and I’ve been known to disobey if the aisle is clear and I know what I want is opposite of where I am. I never go down every aisle, and I’m not about to start now.
Quiet day… until nap time is over.
Attention security: we have a scofflaw in aisle 31. Swarm! Swarm!
:dubious:
Afternoon. Lunch has been consumed and a banana will shortly follow it. Nice outside and approaching 70F, so I might spend some time outside, maybe take a walk or something.
OW, I read your piece on last week’s MMP about the visitation for your passed-on friend. Interesting solution to the problem.
Bumba, sounds like those tire guys are pretty good people. And $200 is a deal–my new tires (bought late last year) cost near $800.
And that’s all I’ve got for the afternoon.
My spring cleaning is coming along. Peeps are threatening a revolt.
I told them at lunch those who didn’t want housework could go out and garden. The yard is full of pinecones and sweet gum balls, that need picking up. That’s my next threat. Or, withholding food  I have an evil bent.
The 2 oldest grand-wreks are enjoying the spring cleaning. Coz’ even with my evil designs on my family the kids find me highly entertaining. They are sweeping the deck as I type. Popsicles all around when they’re done.
We’re planning a big art project this week. I’m trying to mitigate the mess/fun ratio. Not sure what it will be. DIL will be making a Wally-world run tomorrow. So I need to decide.
I had an online visit with my diabetic clinic. Aside from my water retention I’m doing fine. According to them. I feel fine except my stamina is low and my breathing is affected by the fluid retention. Pills for that. Hate them.
Well, off to delegate cleaning duties. I love this.
b. Y’all have a good Monday.
FCM- need that cuke/onion recipe, plz:)
